He turns 29 in January. Will cost us too much and lets be honest, his best is behind him. The question is how quickly he declines and given that he has been relatively injury free, all he needs is one injury to start the downward spiral. And that is without taking into account where his head is at. Will leaving Carlton just accelerate his self destruction?

Too big a risk IMHO.

^ what he said. Not too much in salary cap terms, but too much in terms of what we'd have to trade. He's 29, with a horrible history, and having threatened Didak and Shaw with being traded for off-field misdemeanours, we then go out and trade good players for Fevola ? Sorry, makes no sense to me. Premierships are made of patience and development, not desperate throws on ageing players... hold the course with Dawes, Cloke, Reid and JA.

You're referring to Maxwell quite clearly with your comments.

Actually if we did recruit Fevola (who by the way would cost us a heck of a lot of money, which will squeeze our salary cap), one thing in his favour would be that Maxwell, because of his character, would have a better chance than most of pulling him into line.

Anyway for me it's not so much the off-field stuff as the fact that he's a selfish player who has never achieved his true potential, and a poor influence on others in the way he goes about his work.

You are simply reading way too much into the comment just because you know my opinion of him simply put Nick Maxwell as captain is indicative of the way the Collingwood Football Club wants to operate and whilst it might produce some strong finishes, a few finals appearances and he may even steal an AA or 2, it wont win us a premiership, players like Fevola will

I love Fevola and I'd love him at Collingwood. But I don't thnk Carlton will actually let him go.

I also believe that 2011 is what we should be aiming for but Fev will make us very competitive next year. He takes a lot of marks and kicks a lot of goals.

Imagine a forward line with... Fevola and Cloke + Medhurst, Anthony, Dick and whoever...Thomas/Didak/Davis/Macaffer/ect.

So what would the catch be? Carlton's not going to give him up for nothing and they're not going to give him up for pick 14.

You really do embarrass yourself - when you p*ss into the wind you should face away from the wind. You are either a troll or know absolutely nothing about footy. Enough has been said about the pro's and con's of getting Fev (at what cost and risk?) - for mine our window is from 2011 onwards.

Blues would want plenty for Fev, thats another undeniable point. From us, Id say theyd want our first pick, and perhaps anthony and nathan brown.
Its a big ask, and its all short term gain really. Swans are my tip to get him, they always love the marquee unruly player type-Lockett and Hall-and Fev would suit them down to the ground. Maybe swap Hall for Fev, as Bartlett said on radio today.

He is on a back-ended contract. Figures passed around make it $700k for next year and more for the following. No Fevola at Carlton means NO Finals for them. He will stay a Blue. Every time his name was mentioned at the B & F he was cheered. God media media beat up and they are loving it.

Good to see Crown may get find for serving him booze all night.

Why would we want to get someone who treats his coaches as dirt (Pagan and Ratten) and leads the younger players astray.

Why would we want to get someone who lives in his own world and doesn't care about anyone else.

No thanks not a chance

^ And I would add to that, Carlton lack the courage and fortitude to sack him, their corrupt culture doesnt allow it. Kernahan prances around and huffs and puffs, but Fev will be forgiven, and promise, yet again, to pull his head in-until the next time that is.

I would only accept him under the condition that we keep him in a cage and only let him out for training and for games.

Ohh and zapping him with a cattle prod on gameday for some extra motivation wouldn't hurt either.

I think the idea of zapping him with a cattle prod has a lot of merit, though I see no reason to restrict it to gameday only.

On a side note scientists have recently concluded a 5 year investigation / study into the belief that Brendan Fevola has a brain and the location of this organ. The findings are as follows:

In the first instance it was believed Mr. Fevola's brain was located in the most obvious location, his skull. This was disproved after both radiography and tomography tests were used and no image was produce due to complete lack of absorption of the generated waves.

The next most logical area for study was the locale between Mr. Fevola's Gluteus Maximus. This study involved both the use of mechanical and human methods and after hours of Mr. Fevola claiming "your getting closer" and "your hitting it just right" it was decided the information from Mr. Fevola was false and the examination was concluded.

Many more months of consultation with various experts concluded the only other area voluminous enough to hold a human brain, even one as diminutive as that of Mr. Fevola's, was his enlarged chin. Again after an exhaustive examination of the area nothing was located, though it is of note that large amounts of glass were discovered.

Therefore it is the considered opinion of this organisation that the belief that Mr. Fevola has a brain is nothing more than a myth.

The Swans makes sense, they are in the market for a replacement high-media-profile forward.

From a good source: Sydney are looking seriously at Fev, O'Keefe wants to be back in Melbourne and could be part of a 3 way deal.

With our current list our window is never, we will keep making top 4 probably but lack the superstar player to pull us over the line and they dont usually come up for trade so sorry if when 1 is close to being let go by his club I hope ours throws everything at him because I want to see a premiership not more Semi Final/Prelim Final losses

Let him go, just like we did with Lockett.

Sound familiar....too much trouble, past his best, etc.
