We just banked four points against reasonable opposition but once again the priority is bagging the usual soft targets and always by the same “ supporters “ with the same agendas.
No one has yet mentioned Greenwood. If anyone is not up to it, it’s Greenwood. The game has passed him by, it has for a while.
Every other player who has been bagged in this thread showed a bit at various times in the game. Levi, not so much.

Depends on what Greenwood was asked to do? Who did he tag?

I thought Varcoe was the clear odd man out today and has been in 4 of the 5 games he has played this year.

It's worrying

Greenwood started on the bench and I don’t remember him in the middle at any stage ( why would you )
Varcoe isn’t getting much of it either but he still looks likely when he does find it.
Varcoe laid six tackles and Greenwood two with a very similar number of low possessions.
Varcoe at least has skill and pace. If Greenwood doesn’t put the clamps on his opponent, which is occurring regularly of late, he is no longer getting enough of the footy in his own right anymore.

Very classy Swanny!
What did Swanny say?

I'm wondering too.

On twitter he just says: "When did the trend of booing the oppositions best player come in? Sore losers are fun to laugh to at".

Earlier he says: "Bold strategy bleaching ya hair for Anzac Day. Let’s see how it pans out".

And just now he says: "Some salty Essendon supporters out here tonight on twitter, your anger fuels me. Thank you. Makes me wanna be a better tweeter".

Did Levi play on Shiel?

Greenwood was personally responsible for a two-goal turnaround our way in the third quarter. He’s not one of my favourites but I thought he stood up when it counted.

I remember it well but it’s the other 90 odd mins that concerned me.

I'm exhausted... those floggers are heavy. What a day, always good to WIN!
Darcy is such a big add to us, love his work.

Only two things kept Essendon in the game....

1. Their accuracy.
2. Us butchering the ball.

Otherwise it would have been a 5-8 goal margin.

I’m starting to think Moore is fast becoming our second most important player on our list ( not the second best but second most important in terms of our perfect structure )
We now have a guy who can be relied upon to hold down opposition KPFs and still provide plenty of run coming out of the back half. Very reliable kick too.

Early season games are always tough, especially ANZAC clashes.

Anyone thinking it was going to be a walk in the park doesn’t know much about footy. Four points banked, we live to fight another day.

You can always print it here with the Nick's-patented question marks in black diamonds, and we can fill it in for ourselves.

Another pretty good game from Callum Brown. Not sure if it means he retains his spot when Elliott returns, but he's showing a bit. The play where he won the ball in defence and then ran on and hit up a pass was excellent.

Glad to see that he's now confident enough to take a shot at goal rather than looking to hand off. Hopefully he'll also soon be confident enough to believe his shots at goal will result in actual goals.

Talking about a Brown has reminded me of Phillips running back with the flight of the ball and getting pummeled. GUTSY.
