Ok then, here is the bad part then.

We have been dealing with Marinas up till now in respect of Toovey.

So we have been in breach of the CBA.

Um, surely our football management dept carries out proper checks to ensure any manager they are dealing with for one of our players is accredited? That would be just plain normal business due diligence? Surely the first thing you would require before accepting instructions from a purported agent is a letter of appointment and proof of credentials?

Someone at the club needs their ass kicked.

I am finding it hard not to laugh at this, I've never heard of this ever happening how can an AFL player get a manager that isn't accredited?

I've heard that apparently Marinis is involved in some sort of sports management business and that his parter in said business is an accredited agent and he was acting on his behalf.

The AFLPA and the clubs didn't like how he was going about it this week so they've reeled him in. His partner could continue negotiations but obviously it's going to be a pretty messy.

Not going to bag Tooves because we don't know the full story. How keen really are the team to keep him? I know if Mick were still coach he'd not be going anywhere, but Bucks? Who knows.

I certainly hope he stays, he's one of the best one on one defenders in the comp, for his size. If he does go - the Sack needs to go out and put on a few kilos and start developing his body work, he's a good replacement but needs to improve defensively, he's a long way from Toovey at the moment. Right now I'd have Reid ahead of him to play the Toovey role, with N.Brown coming in as full back. In fact, that's actually pretty exciting, as giving Reid more freedom to use his footskills out of defense can only be a good thing.
