...and now he is about to get rid of our one remaining power forward... That will be yet another hole punched in the bow of this shipwreck

Yes he can. The players he's got can't play well enough for long enough.

That is what he wants you to believe. That has been his strategy for a while now.

Which in many ways may prove to be a blessing, quicker this farce ends the better.

Reckon we can package Blair with Cloke as a 2-for-1?

No, best option would be to keep Cloke and remove Buckley. The farce would end, and we would retain a player who could play a very important role under a coach who builds up his confidence and institutes a game plan where he can contribute.

I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

Pride and throwing the towel in don't go together. He will and should stay.

I've been a long time supporter of Bucks defended him at every turn but the evidence is to strong now even allowing for injuries.
I can handle losing and even when you have a long injury list you expect to lose against good sides but Melbourne aren't s good side and for 3/4 today we made them look like Hawthorne.
One thing you can't forgive is a lack of effort and lack of a plan. The players look like headless chooks out there.
Tackling is the only thing we remotely well but when you turn the ball over as much as we do we get plenty of practice.
We have no on field leadership from senior players. This is a direct crack at Pendles and Sidey.
Today in the first term we looked good. Both contributed well. After that Pendles was only fair and Sidey was basically non existent (10 touches with 4 turnovers in 3/4 a great return for someone who is V/C of the side and it's not just this week he's been found wanting look at all our losses)
When things go against us with momentum we have no plan B and plan A doesn't work either. We have zero structure that can withhold pressure.
His time is up.
Thanks Bucks you tried your best but you can't coach or teach that is obvious now

And there is no shame in that, its a tough gig, and he has given his all, but its not working out

I can't believe we're still having a debate? Shouldn't it be obvious now that while he's a club legend which will never change he just doesn't cut it at the top job.

I don't doubt the effort and dedication he's put into the job, but sentimentality can only get you so far in this industry and unfortunately he hasn't delivered the results.

This time last year we were about 8-3 at the halfway mark before our downward spiral began. If anyone contemplated us going backwards at a rapid rate this time last year then people would have been baying for blood.

The excuses are wearing thin now.

^I would just like to see how Bucks would go, with just one season, just one, with a fully fit and healthy list. But he never gets the chance, and does not look likely too.

I agree. Sadly, there are some on this board that would find negatives even if Bucks lead us to the flag.

Post subject: Buckley still reckons "we're capable of better"Reply with quote

It could be that he is genuinely deluded. If so, the Club is in more trouble than might be first apparent.

After half a season it is the results you have put on the scoreboard that prove what you are capable of.

Not what you imagine might be the best case scenario.

I saw his press conference tonight.I didn't really listen to what he was saying because it was just the usual litany of excuses, but the body language was telling. There was an air of resignation about him tonight.I think he realizes his time is just about up.
