This team performed way better than any of us expected this season....

But as a club we just lost ANOTHER Grand Final!!!!!

I’m absolutely shattered that we couldn’t win. Collingwood is not the fairytale club.

I’m sure we will give it another crack next ywR, but ultimately it’s GF loss 27.

It’s heartbreaking that since 2000, we have a GF record of 1-4....
Another team has a record of 4-1.
That hurts.

Won’t be watching this game EVER!

Good on ya Frankie. And we are blessed to be able to do it. Who here would want to support any other team????

I’m gutted by the gutless non decision by what was supposed to be the best umpires in the land. The shepherd against Maynard to not allow him to get to the contest when sheed marked was gutless! *&^*(&%$% disgrace.

It was a travesty. It would have been paid to Maynard 19 times out of 20. But then, Howe should have been pinged for htb in the square ten mins earlier, so it is what it is. In the end, they controlled most of the game.

Couldn’t make your mind up about Maynard?

No, I couldn’t. I think I must have missed someone. Like it matters.

Or I can’t count to 22, which may be the third bottle of Charles Orban Blanc de Blanca speaking.

No, quite understand, but it doesn't get you or the team anywhere.

As I said in the prematch thread, I'd gladly take Hawthorns spoons to have the same GF win% as them.

Im absolutely devastated. I thought we'd go on with it after the start we got away to in the last but they wore us down. One more goal would have done it I think.

I'm too disappointed to point the finger at anyone . There's no point.

The way we lost this one will take a while to get over.

Can we trade Grundy? AA my ass, got smashed by oppositions 2nd and 3rd ruckman

At least Cox stood up when it mattered

<snip> We don't make finals without him let alone GF.
I'm as devasted as anyone. But with other 50 supporters on the train we just belted out our side by side song in appreciation of the great heart shown by team this season. WC was just better in the end.

I am so proud of our club. Thank you Bucks and the boys for taking us on a magical ride this year. You were brilliant and not disgraced and I love your heart and guts and determination.

Tommy Langdon, you personified the Collingwood spirit today. How often did he repel a West Coast attack? Mayne also was an absolute tiger.

Brodie and Sidey beaten today, but they're part of the reason we even got there.

Brilliant effort boys.

Totally agree. I dunno why so many posters are attacking the team. We played wonderfully to get so close, and smashed many worthy opponents.

We were always going to suffer for not having Moore/Dunn/Reid in the team to take one of their big forwards, but we couldn't risk them without prep.

That's one main reason we lost.

The other was that our midfield was just not on song. Pendles, Sidey, Grundy, Treloar all mediocre or worse today. Don't blame them, they have been champions for a long time. But that's the fact and they would know it.

On the positive side, Mayne was a monster, Langdon and De Goey as well. They just had us in the air and around the clearances, can't win if you lose both those stats. Blaming the umpires is ridiculous.

Wasn't he fantastic!! I had to turn the god-awful BT (Brain Taylor) off and so just watched without sound, concentrating on what the Collingwood players were doing through visual. Mayne did a save in the last quarter, where I thought if we win this, put it down to that, plus Crisp's great mark in the dying minutes!!!
So gutted for him and all our wonderful players, plus Bucks, coaching staff and Eddie. .

What's wrong with being a bad loser?

I hate losing too. If Pies4shaw is sick of the crap, so what. There's no such thing as an honorable loss.
