What I will say is that Reid must be in pretty good nick right now.
It’s very difficult to be the dominant forward every week in an ordinary VFL team.
I would be confident he will perform ok at least and he knows he’s got Cox breathing down his neck. These are the scenarios you want ( kinda ) while it’s still early in the season. Rest up Cox now and find out if Reid still has anything to offer or not. Much better to know now than to be rolling the dice in September.

Ben might move / react slower than his halcyon days but he knows footy

After all a premiership CHB and All Australian

Yes he will I expect read the play and mark if possible and if not next action will be getting ball to ground

A roll of the dice —he is headed for more AFL or Vic Park

He needs to know and club needs to know

Bye in the vfl this week so I can't see Wells coming back soon.

I watched him play last week and I can't see him coming back soon, bye or not. He's running like an old Rolls Royce that you would only use for ceremonial purposes.

I saw Daniel two weeks ago (when Appleby injured his leg) and he was used sparingly off the pine

Showed glimpses of his talents but not selectable from them

Things must be going very bad if anyone is actually talking about Daniel Wells playing this year

Anyone spruiking for wells inclusion- clearly hasnt watched any VFL games.

He is slow and is so far off senior footy its absurd.
Thank goodness he took a pay cut.

Reid has been solid all year, and although I'd probably rather give Lynch some exposure at senior level, Reid deserves his spot.

Reid has had a few weeks in the VFL and has done reasonably well, if he can kick straight then we’re in with a show: the ball should be delivered better in the first than the VFL.

Wells is being nurtured along, he had a long time out and is being given time & not being rushed (see Buckley’s presser). This does not mean his selection is a ‘fait accompli” as he’ll have to earn his spot but he is not being rushed.

This will be a tough game. My legends tiks are in the 50 meter fwd pocket on the ground floor near the Lonsdale street end on the Eastern Spencer Street end. Not much chop compared to the Ponsford Level seats we have

I watched Wells at windy hill last week.
He had a very good second half.
He did a number of classy things.
He played the entire game.
Short of another injury he should be back soon.
Class speaks for itself.

Very happy to see Ben Reid back!.... Very good footballer!
AND just like Ben, I have no doubt Wells will get the promotion once he shows consistent performances & the opportunity arises. He's got too much class to be ignored.

On a side note, I'm looking forward to Sier's progress I must admit!
Gee he was good for us last year!

I think we're actually going to win this game fairly easily after an initial tussle - Pies by 66 points
