Unless you are a kp player with an opposition match up you usually stand, or are playing against your old club I don’t know if there’s a statistical basis for “player x doesn’t play well against team y”.

Let's just confine ourselves, then, to saying that "over his career, he has had fewer disposals against GWS, on average, than he has had against any other team and has kicked fewer goals, on average, than he has kicked against 11 of the 17 other teams."

Maybe JDG took personal leave because he knew that against GWS he was statistically incapable of making any impact on the game.

I would have preferred new boy Chamberlain to have got a game, roll the dice time, no Jordon, take a chance, may as well, after the week from hell this team has endured. Like Ch 7 sticking cameras and mikes, in their faces, our players, last night, going to training, demanding reactions. Glad Mason Cox brushed them away, as you would swat an annoying fly.

The key to success is not so much talent, as being drilled in the game plan. Carmichael should be a good pick up, but no way he will have had time to grasp the drills.

Chamberlain?? Isn't he pre-occupied with umpiring??? Smile

Re Training vibes via Twitter this morning. Ginnivan training with 'two's', Isaac Chugg receiving embraces from teammates?? Speculation until later today ... Obviously require a JDG replacement this week.

It didn't occur to me that Ginnivan could be dropped, but the truth is he has had a couple of ordinary games and could maybe do with a breather (as medi-sub?). So perhaps Chugg will be a direct swap for him.

For what it's worth, the emergencies this game are Noble, Henry, Hoskin-Elliott, T Brown, Poulter, Chugg and Begg. If Ginnivan is out (even though he was named in the starting 18), then we'd need two ins from the last four, which I can only imagine would be Chugg and Tyler Brown.

Massive danger game as our historical 50% win/loss ratio against GWS indicates and that's even before we consider the curve ball thrown our way in the lead up.

How will our team respond?

With a whimper or a whack?

As good as our last 4 weeks have been come Sunday night we'll see this weeks game as either a great opportunity taken or lost.
