Forget the tax..Your on the money mate. Lolly drinks are killing our young and each other..It's like the loaded shot gun..this stuff is so high in alcohol content it should be banned...it's designed to get everyone as shit faced as quickly as possible.

That's rot Joffa and you know it. Alcopops are actually quite low in alcohol. Try whisky at 40% or Absinthe at 60% ABV.
The alcopops tax isn't working precisely because the kids don't drink it to get drunk. They know they can go out and buy a bottle of Vodka at 45% ABV (minus the alcopops tax) and mix it with their Coke (the drink, not the snuff) and hey presto.
It's like the whole gun debate, it's not the alcohol that's the problem, it's the dipsticks who don't know how to drink it responsibly. Delinquent parenting is actually the problem at the moment.
We've spared the rod and are killing our kids as a result. Do-gooders messing with discipline that has worked for millennia. The Spartans had the right idea!
The truth is that the vast majority of people in our society are well behaved and do enjoy a drink. They are neither pisspots nor teetotallers. Why does everything have to be either-or?
History shows us very clearly that prohibition doesn't work - and it's not working for hard drugs either. We need far more enlightened social policy and better education about alcohol and drugs at every level of society. |

Back in 99, they did the old Zeppelin tune “your time is gonna come” with Jimmy Page live at the Greek. Perhaps if they re-wrote it as ‘your time is gonna come when big bubba gets randy in the showers’ we could have a huge hit.

I'm surprised by the level of aggression about this incident, yes it was as low an act as you can get but is the pledging of further violence against this young man in any way productive.
Will it assist Scott in dealing with the probable physical and mental trauma that is associated with any serious assault.
Will it in any way help stop the continuing and escalating problem that is criminal acts associated with drunkenness.
Those that are rightfully shocked and disgusted by this act should ask yourself would your feelings be as strong if it was some stranger or even a person you intensely dislike (in my case the Human Turd). I hope the answer is yes because no one should be attacked in that manner, everyone should at the very least have the opportunity to defend themselves, or preferably not be attacked at all.
I strongly believe that before we as a society can truly start making a dent in this alarming problem everyone needs to take a deep breath and try using our voices instead of our fists to get our point across.
