And?

We were shit in the first half.

Well, that's an over-statement, isn't it? They were sufficiently dreadful in the last 5 minutes of the 1st quarter for me to leave the ground but they've steadily worked themselves back into the game since then, it seems.

Interestingly, a couple of them "blew up" late in the first - especially Beams (unsurprisingly, given it was his first game back - not criticising, just observing). Also, they had a very one-paced mid-field early and they lacked enough fast, straight-running defenders (with Toovey and Shaw missing) to close down the space forward of the centre. It helps you understand just how important some players are to the structure, whether or not they are getting the ball.

Also, I think Lachie Keeffe is probably for the high jump based on what I saw - I remain a fan of his but he got moved off the ball in the m arkingt contest very easily by children in the first 25 minutes.

If I have to listen to Commetti saying that Essendon should have got the free I'll spew.

Pretty amazing, all things considered. Anyone like to fill the rest of us in as to what's going on?

Sure, we are still missing some seriously good players too. But that is no excuse for that first qtr and a half.

Well, David - they are now leading by 62 points (23.16 to 14.8 ), about 27 minutes gone.

I think Donny is leaving me to answer your question as punishment for my despicable act of disloyalty.
