Well, we could always swap Cloke for Casboult, could be a win-win for both clubs. ! LOL

And... we'd end up with a tall who is a great mark, but shithouse kick for goal? Clokeboult. Shocked

My worry is that Cloke is our best pairing to go with Moore. Cloke should be retained and help Moore through the next two years. The alternative is only White or Cox. I have no confidence in those guys to be good enough to lift us into the top four. White is not young anymore and inconsistent. Cloke is durable and will possibly provev to be a loss if he leaves. I worry we are about to make a big mistake, unless we have someone else in mind to trade for like Lobb from GWS.

Exactly. He's big, strong, still reasonably fast, and more importantly, he's ours. KPP players don't grow on trees. Crazy to cut our losses on this one.

Cloke should not play Seniors this year. Let him help the VFL team and get him refocused over Summer. In saying that I am all for letting him go, but it has to be a win win situation and that won't happen.

I still have a feeling Cloke will stay on, and see out his contract, dunno why, i just have this hunch he wont go. At his best, he could still be good for us.

If only someone had the foresight to build him up rather than tear him down and humiliate him. Yes he has faults, but why not try and play to his strengths? Where was the support when he was trying to run with three defenders hanging off him? Where is the expert kicking coach?
Nope humiliate him, put him in the naughty corner, that'll show ya!

Mate.....the club has employed several kicking coaches, psychologists including using head phones at training. Bucks has stuck by Cloke for 4 1/2 years. Finally, this year, as a result of the emergence of Darcy Moore, time has caught up with Travis. I doubt any player has had as much support as Travis has had over the course of his career.

My feeling is the club has stuck fast with Buckley for three years too long. Throwing out the best KPP player this club had had in 20 years will fix what? Let's see who picks him up and hat they do with him. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. Will you?

IMO a good coach would at the very least use him as a foil for Moore, as Moore build muscle, we would have twin towers that are unbeatable. Use his strengths, ie his massive strength playing 1 on two, as Buckley insists every player should, and use his powerful thumping kick, even from the back line.

And until I see a KPP of Lloyd caliber work with him, no the club has not done enough. Maybe what they have done should have been, but it's not, so keep trying.

Was Trav at the club when Carey was employed?

Interesting I heard Carey talking about Cloke on the radio over the weekend.

Among other things, he said Cloke should stay right away from the weights from now on and just focus on his running.

I'd agree though if I remember correctly they were saying preseason he'd already dropped weight to cope with the additional aerobic requirements of modern footy. Ditto White.

Seems everyone has an opinion.

CHRIS Judd says Collingwood spearhead Travis Cloke should drop five kilograms and stop upper body weights as part of a bid to re-ignite his AFL career next season.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but, I was an interested listener to Scott Pendleburys interview on SEN on Saturday morning after the game.
After discussing the ins and outs of the night before the conversation, inevitably, turned its focus to Travis Cloke and how he operates within the team.
Pendles was asked something like
Q -"What does Travis say when the midfield group asks him how/where he wants the ball delivered?"
Pendles A - "Trav asks the midfield group to deliver it out in front of me on the lead"
Next Q - "What does Darcy Moore say when the midfield group asks him how/where he wants the ball delivered?"
Pendles A - Darcy says "Just put it in my general area and I will get it".

Dont take any of the quotes as verbatim, they are roughly how I remember them.

Says a lot about the individual I think and where the club should be focussing its attention.
