of course they knew about it - you can change the inside as much as you want, but not the outside because people walking past (or maybe flying past?) can go "oh wow, that's the building that the olympics was in".

but by the same token, it would be remiss of the club not to try to get approval, even knowing it was almost certainly going to be knocked back.

EVERYONE knew we weren't going to be able to paint the roof of a heratige listed building, this is just a media beat up trying to diss us again.
