Michael and Francou won't be traded. They are above that standard. I'd take Simmonds.
Frabcou has had 2 knee reco's and is near the end anyway. If Port could get pick 7 they be crazy not to jump at it and they would. Mal would not be let go for pick 7 unless he was a threatened PSD nominee. Simmonds, please no. I can't believe what Freo supporters thing they might get for him. Honestly the fact that he is tall only means that there is more dud than the average player. He is ordinary. If he wasn't ordinary Freo would have made the finals. He is one of their real let downs time and again.

I suppose you're right on Francou. But he is a former runner up in the Brownlow and if they were to trade him, pick 7 would come up.

Francou has just turned 30 and would be a terrible move for us to make.

Im loving this position we are in in regards to pick 7.

The rumour that seems to have most justification is the 3 way deal that gives Richmond 2 picks, Ottens to the Cats and one of Geelongs young midfielders to us.

We are in the strong position here. If the deal doesnt go through Richmond will lose out the most with Ottens going to the PSD. The cats are in desperate need for a player like Ottens, so they would also lose out substantially. As far as we are concerned, it would be a great pick up to have one of Bartel, Kelly, Tenace, Johnson..... but if it doesnt eventuate we still keep our top pick - and perhaps draft a good youngster.

I hope we scare the Cats a bit tomorrow and start dealing with the Kangas for Harvey if he is available or Kerr from the Eagles. If the Cats see pick 7 slipping away, Ottens would also slip away. Depends on how desperate they are i guess.

Not just the Cats though, Richmond may settle for less and deal with the Cats rather than lose Otto for Notto.

We should make a fairly public offer for Harvey or Kerr just to see if we can force the Cats hands.

Keep No:7 for the draft. Who knows we may be able to pick up another Billy Morrison.

Why would'nt we give pick 7 to the tigers for ottens. With buckley, burns woewodin, rocca wakelin over or near 30, take the punt with him our list will have to have a mini cleanout in a couple of years.Time is not on our side. A player like ottens will be ready to play as i think our window for a premiership is next year or 2006.

Rocca's not near 30. Bucks, Wakes, Burns Woey aren't key position forwards. Cam Cloke will be CHF to replace Rocca, Fraser can float down a fiar bit. Davidson and Tarrant out of the goalsquare, we don't need Ottens, not now and not in two years time.

The only reason to get Ottens is to trade him next year to Geelong ofr Bartel etc.. Smile

stoka35 - your list scared the hell out of me
we don't need " injury prone " or " average " players as we have heaps of kids who may end up " average " or " champions " .
Brent Harvey or Delsanto would be good , but why waste pick 7 on a recycled player who may not step up .
