Ben Sharp is an interesting one. Rookie listed by the Eagles this year looked good for Oakleigh last season. Maybe a late pick.

Wasn't Toby McGrath an ex Essendon Player??

Any way they interviewed Toby McGrath the next day as he was not present at the Awards. He did not even think he was a chance. He said ' I can't believe I polled more than Priddis or Beros, or even my own team mate Gilmore, all of these players have had fantastic years whereas I thought mine was pretty ordinary'

Everyone was tipping a close call between those three players. Everyone except the maggots.

Well I look at it this way. Trade Woey for Gilmore and Fremantle 2nd pick. Use that 2nd pick and our number five to get Bartel (if he is available), or Luke Power, or Kerr. then either pick up Priddis or Beros with a late round pick. Beros is pretty damn good as well, just his kicking does let him down but he is a hard at it footballer.

There's no way a club is going to give a second round pick for Woey on it's own let alone with another player.

If they did we would come away laughing pretty bloody loudly.

Toby was on the WCE rookie list in 2000.

His brother Cory has played 51 games for Essendon and now Carlton, while another brother, Ash plays for Brisbane.

Ah yes Cory McGrath is the one I am thinking of. I knew his brother Ash plays for Brisso.

Thnx J26

Must say I find it surprising that no one picked up Priddis. goes to show that the AFL policy is a disgrace. Seems as though if you are over 21 and have not made it into an AFL outfit then you are not good enough.

This now proves to me that the AFL will soon become an over inflated under 21 competition.

Slow as treacle and that is why he wasn't (and never has been) drafted.

Hmmm, good luck to him but I think the game has changed so much -even in the last couple of years- that these days if you ain't got a bit of pace you are really up against it.

True, rand, true. Have a read of Jim Main's collum in the summer edition of Inside Football - all about the need for speed which is driving our game...
