I haven't voted because I don't agree that Licca will play. IMO, he should stay at Williamstown until there's a vacancy in the midfield. At the moment, there isn't one and, as per the discussions in another thread, with Burns in good form, there isn't a spot for his type of in-and-under play. Why change a winning midfield anyway? The days of Licca being an automatic inclusion have passed.

Coxy has the edge in class and coolness at the minute. Slotted into the side with ease, looks at home on the big stage. The other lads just look at tad more raw.

Clearly we're not going to be recruiting any half back flankers for the next 5-8 years.

I think on form and promise it would be Goldsack, closely followed by Cox, while Stanley also deserves a chance after 3 (apparently) top class games with Willy.

Why is Licuria going to play? I'd rather anyone on that list ahead of him. We cant go back to playing one paced 30 year old mid field plodders, yes I know hes been a great player for us but its time. Keep playing the kids.

Goldsack for me. He played his best game last week (bar one mistake). I think his size & strength will be needed seeing we are without out best 2 defenders.

If Heater is out then I would go with Cox as his replacement.

The Sack and Cox should both play with Heath missing

Same here. If Heath does play, though, I'd give Cox the nod.
Bad luck for Tooves but he probably needs a week off, and Stanners will get his chance in the near future anyhow Smile

Licca comes in for Tooves you'd think
Wakes for Presti,
Bryan for Richards
Goldy holds his spot

Cox stiff (there I said it), but so is Toovey for mine.

Stanley rewarded for good recent form making the squad. I think he will probably miss out unless they pick him ahead of Goldsack to match-up on Robbo, something he apparently did very well against Sandy a few matches back, doubt it though.
Stanners might also get a run if Heater doesn't come up, but early indications are Heater is okay.

Malthouse said we had six playing lame by the end of the game last week, so you never know, there could be a late change.

I picked Toovey but It was a very very short half head from Goldsack.

As someone else said, what a good predicament to be in.

Totally agree. For mine Toovey has done enough to keep the spot for a couple of weeks, but Goldsack is desparately unlucky. This is also based on never really seeing Stanners play.
As an aside, i think longterm the real winner here will be cox if he can get the private stuff settled. This opinion is totally based on the Adelaide game, where he looked composed at times that he had no right to. I reckon in a couple of years he will be a very reliable, and versatile, player. The private stuff may be the real issue however.

Goldsack has to be a starter. After a couple of mistakes against the Bulldogs he has been improving in leaps and bounds.
Toovey unfortunately after a great start has been going backwards and I think he needs to go back to Willy.

I'm with Tannin (again) that Goldie should play and Cannibal that Licca shouldn't.

Now the match committee have their reasons for promoting Licca and I love the guy (No. 18 is sewn onto my fantasy duffle-coat), but I reckon a few others deserve a game before Licca. He can't be match fit; leave him until after the break.

Bryan is a monty to play and so is Thomas. Why give Daisy a rest before the week's rest anyway? He's doing fine, he just didn't finish last week. If he'd kicked straight everyone here would be giving him votes.

So it's Goldsack, Thomas, Bryan and Stanley. Why would they promote Stanley after great recent form, only not to play him? Doesn't make sense. The boy deserves a game, so give him one on the big stage and see how he goes.

This has been MM's philosophy this season anyway.....blooding the kids in big games to see how they cope. MM wants to win every game, but I reckon he sees 2008-10 as the likely time on our premiership clock and is blooding the youth carefully.

Against the Bulldogs we failed after half time again. As a measure against 2006, it looked like we hadn't improved at all. The game this week will tell us whether we are in better nick. I suspect we are a much better team, but it's time to prove it.

36+ points win for mine.

In : Wakelin, Bryan

Out: Presti, Richards

means no licca, and Goldy and Tooves retain there positions, maybe MM is learning that its the kids that have got us here and not the experienced players who let us down last year.
