Yeah every Manchester United fan "thanks" you for your pathetic effort against Liverpool. Razz

5 bloody 1 to the Reds! Laughing How much did they pay Newcastle? Wink

Still Chelsea drew 2-2 with Fulham. That's good.

Newcastle stank more then any other side ive watched all season. God i hate Liverpool.
Just watched us beat Middlesborough. Dominated but we just couldnt put them away. Parks miss from not even a yard out was terrible.

yep, what a disgusting display from my boys. Could have gone to double figures if it wasn't for shay given.

I HATE Gerrard more than any other player in the world.

I predicted a result something like this. Newcastle is just a few classes below teams like liverpool, man U etc.. The midfield is sh*te, thats the biggest problem.

-time to retire, Nicky Butt
-Guthrie is a waste of space
-how we ever made Geremi captain when he came is beyond me
-Daffy Duff tries hard but just lacks the quality to produce the killer blow on most occasions (goal against Tottenham the exception)
-Gutierrez and N'Zogbia are both great players down the wing but give the ball away too cheaply too often.

hehehe

Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given is set to become the centre of a transfer tug of war after his lawyer revealed his client is fed up with the turmoil at St James' Park and wants out.

Given, who has spent the past 11 years at the Premier League club, reached the "lowest point of his football career" during last weekend's 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool and is now ready to move on.

The 32-year-old's lawyer, Michael Kennedy, said: "Shay is very despondent following the very poor performance of the team against Liverpool last weekend."

"It was the lowest point of his football career and a performance that he would not wish to be repeated.

"When he signed a new five-year contract in 2006 it was on the basis that the club would challenge for major honours, but on the present evidence all that he can see ahead with the turmoil on and off the pitch is a battle for survival.

"Having served the club loyally for over 11 years, Shay feels compelled to consider his position in the light of the interest being expressed in him by Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham."

agreed, but I think Newcastle were the better team until that penalty, they just drop their heads after that. The 3rd goal was stupid, just lazy defending from a team that didn't care anymore. Then the sending off of Nicky Butt (not warranted imo) just to rub salt into the wounds.

Hissy-fit after coach forgets player's name

Quote:
Charles N'Zogbia said Thursday he would never play for Newcastle again while Joe Kinnear remains manager, accusing him of insulting him by apparently forgetting his name in a television interview.

"First of all I wish to apologise to the fans for wanting to leave the club," the 22-year-old Frenchman said in a statement.

"However, having been insulted by Joe Kinnear, I will never play for him again while he remains Newcastle manager.

he's had a few good games, thats about it. Hopefully we can get a bit of coin for him and find a decent player that wants to play for the toon army.

not exactly thrilled with the performance against the mackems but I guess it was better than losing.

Shay is gone to Citeh. Sad to see him go, the best keeper in the PL IMO. Can't really blame him for wanting to go though. I think the scouser game was the last straw.

3-1 at half time over WBA!

There are just too many similarities between the clubs (collingwood and newcastle) to ignore!

- both clubs started in 1892
- Collingwood the suburb is named after a Geordie from Newcastle.
- Both black and white stripes and magpies.
- both fanatical supporters, regularily the most away attendances in the league.
- both regarded as working class clubs.
- similar stories as far as finals losses and trophies (i know this is not a good thing!!)

every collingwood supporter should learn this song (note the word in bold here)

blaydon races

I went to Blaydon races
Twas on the 9th of June
Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two
On a summer's afternoon
I took the bus from Balmbras
And she was heavy laden
Away we went along Collingwood Street
To see the race at Blaydon

Chorus:
Oh me lads, you should've seen us gannin
Passing the folks along the road
And all of them were starin'
All the lads and lasses there
They all had smilin' faces
Gannin along the Scotswood Road
To see the Blaydon races

We flew past Armstrong's factory
And up by the Robin Adair
But gannin ower the Railway Bridge
The bus wheel flew off there
The lasses lost their crinolenes
And veils that hide their faces
I got two black eyes and a broken nose
In gannin to Blaydon races

Chorus

Now when we got the wheel back on
Away we went again
But them that had their noses broke
They went back ower hyem
Some went to the dispensary
And some to Doctor Gibbs
And some to the infirmary
To mend their broken ribs

Chorus

We flew across the Chain Bridge
Reet into Blaydon Toon
The barman he was calling then
They called him Jackie Broon
I saw him talking to some chaps
And them he was persuadin'
To gan and see Geordie Ridley's show
At the Mechanics' Hall in Blaydon

Chorus

Now when we got to Paradise
There were bonny games begun
There were four and twenty on the bus
And how we danced and sung
They called on me to sing a song
So I sang 'em 'Paddy Fagan'
I danced a jig and I swung me twig
The day I went to Blaydon

Chorus

The rain it poured down all the day
And made the ground quite muddy
Coffee Johnny had a white hat on
The old wife stole a cuddy
There were spice stalls and monkey shows
And old wives selling ciders
And the chap on the ha'penny roundabout
Saying 'Any more lads for riders?

Chorus
