Thing is, I don't reckon Dick is anything like Walker or Rusling. (1) he is a small forward / mid. (2) he comes back from the sidelines and kicks a bag of goals immediatley eg v Sydney.

I reckon he is dynamite, it is purely an issue of his body and the clubs (nathans) understanding of his durability.

If he makes it back, this will likely be the route, I would think.

I think this is a good example of how a VFL reserves team to complement the VFL seniors is an idea worthy of pursuing. Allows for an avenue of nursing injured players like Dick back to match fitness, playing mostly against 17 and 18 year olds, one low-intensity game at a time...

His body is his enemy, which is a real shame as he has genuine talent & pace. I'd like to see the club keep him for 1 more year, in case he comes good, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's de-listed

Just a quick one about Lee Walker.....he had freakish skills, agility and looked a natural footballer, all this in a 197 cm body. Would have been a cracker of a player.

My biggest concern is that Dickie isn't built for finals footy. Too light. A team can get away with 1 or 2 of these types aslong as they bring other qualities, but that's about it.

He'd be fine for most H&A games, but I have concerns about him when it's time for the heavy stuff.

The talent of Cyril Rioli, in a body like a thin wire with too much electric current running through it.

Tragic. Lee Walker, Tom Davidson, Sean Rusling, Brad Dick.

TBH PP Cyrils impact in finals has been overated IMO. Can't say I remember him tearing it apart in a big final. Certainly played his part, but not like in H&A.

In addition Dickie is much lighter than little Cyril too. Plays fairly differently too. Cyril not afraid to get in and under. Dickie more outside type.

In an era when players that height just didn't do the things he could do. Sad

I feel for Dick, he would be hard done by if he gets the shaft.

We've had our share of tragic stories, hope it comes good for Brad.
I hope he is in training as we speak for a big 2012.

I compared them for talent, I made no mention of finals - although Cyril's grand final against Geelong in 08 was pretty bloody handy.

So I guess you agreed with the second part of my sentence, then? Laughing
