Goodes' incident wasn't assessed correctly, Sidey's was.
And I'll reiterate - Goodes getting off has nothing to do with Sidey getting 3 weeks.... So lets treat this as separate matters. |

Yeah, at a minimum should have been high contact, low impact, and reckless/negligent (which is the lower?).
Apparently he got a -95% loading because the contact was made to Selwood. |

C'mon! Goodes' incident was not even an 'incident'. I'm a little embarrassed to follow a game that even questions the Goodes supposed 'bump'.
As for Sidebottom ... STUPID act. You rarely need to jump in the air to grab the pill. Will be sorely missed vs Hawks. I'd even go as far as saying we have little hope vs Hawthorn without our best team on the park.
Was hoping for 3 to 2. 4 to 3 is a bitter pill to swallow. He'll essentially miss up to a month of footy, and will be rusty on return. Back for Carlton.

Lol i thought Selwood would have found a way to duck lower into Goodes bump so he could milk it for everything he could get.  isn't that the only way Selwood knows how to win the footy.

Exactly! It was clear that the ball bounced high and towards Sidebottom. That is why he jumped toward it. He never jumped to take out Weller. That is clear. His stupidity was on popping out the elbow instead of tucking it in when he realised he was too late to get the ball. A split second error which I'm sure he regrets.

Fair call, would have been 3 down to 2 if he didn't get subbed out.
A big loss but we have the depth to cover over the next 3 weeks.
It may have cost him the Copeland? |
