Crisp and Varcoe look like keepers.Sidebottom stood up. Oxley showed his class before fading after half time. Cloke got out of the goal square and didn't it make a difference! Fasolo looked like a player .... Dunno what happened in the last, but I'll say the glass is half full.

I know everyone will bitch about the last 45 minutes but there was a lot to like especially the first 75 mins. Many teams blow up in Round 1 due to the added intensity and you can add the emotion of the weeks events.
We set up the game early and did enough to hang on when under siege. The 4 points are in the bag and let's hope Cloke stays up the ground more and White stays deep, forward line functioned well and it brought guys like Blair, Elliot and Fasolo into play with Cloke playing further up.

Had a mix of the good, great, poor and pathetic.
Some downhill skiers look great when the team is up and about but go missing when we don't have momentum.
Grundy and Crisp stood out. Varcoe did some good things.
Sadly, if this is any indication, Swan looks like he's done. Looked just like the 2014 version.

I still hope we sacrifice one or two half backs next week for some more attacking options under the roof of Etihad.

2 1/2 quarters of good footy will beat most bottom 8 sides. With improvement, we will match it with the top bracket.

Disappointing last qtr but we went very hard in the 1st half and it hurt us in the end, however we got enough of a lead before we hit the wall
No Sidebottom though made a big difference in the last and the fact that Sinclair and Swan got a bit of the ball but can't hit a target on their best day didn't help either |

Didn't see Cloke running around as much in the last - was more planted in the goal square, and this was our goalless quarter.
He just needs to get out of the F50.
