Kennedy will come in for him. Not like for like, but Kennedy will go better than OK, and Swanny will be better for the run.

They took him out back after the game and shot him.

Very disappointing that Sidey broke his thumb tonight because he was so instrumental and pivotal in providing us the spark that we had in the first three quarters of the game.

We'll struggle to replace him but I think Ben Kennedy or Tim Broomhead would be the logical replacements for him. Hopefully Sidey is back for ANZAC Day if it's possible.

Man this is a real kick in the cods after already losing Greenwood.

The only positive is it should provide more opportunity for De Goey, Kennedy, Broomhead and Freeman in the short term.

Shit news to sour a great win., but it did partly explain why we just stopped in the last.

I guess he'l be playing with a crook thumb all year as I doubt he'll have the proper 6 weeks off to let it heal. Expect some sort of soft cast or something and he'll play with a fracture all year. Just can't heal only to go back into full contact.

My concern is how will it affect him during the year.

3 weeks, might be an outside chance for Anzac Day.

At least one of those is against the hapless Saints.

In a hard game in tough conditions no wonder we struggled in the last without our best runner.
For those fwits who continue to bag him remember what happened without him in this game.

A massive loss. Sidebottom is probably our third best / important player only behind Pendlebury and Cloke now. His class was what gave us the edge when the game was there to be won and when the heat was on in the last Quarter he was sorely missed.

Replacement would have to Broomhead in my opinion. He seems to have the class to make the grade and we need to get games into him to develop him to be the player he can be, but he is no Sidebottom yet. Sidebottom's durability has been a great strength to the team and matches his skill and endurance.

The injury lists seem to be getting longer every year, just proving that depth is critical. Hence the benefit in having players like Kennedy and Freeman pushing for selection.

Has anybody heard a reliable update on the length of his time out.
Its seems to be sounding worse, the more it rolls on.
If its pinned, its virtually a double rehab. ( Bones knit first, then usually pins out to require a second rehab ) Huge blow.
