not sold on Mayne, he is a serviceable midfielder...we have plenty of midfielders.

What we desperately need is a speedy line breaking backman and a speedy goal sneaking forward. I feel like a broken record as i feel i have been talking about it ever since Leon retired.

I get this feeling we should have pushed harder to get a player like Daniel Rioli.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing i suppose.

I'm with you, was pushing the idea of grabbing Pickett from GWS as part of the Treloar deal but it didn't eventuate.

Not sure how we were ever going to get Rioli when we didn't have a pick until 32.

Hopefully Daicos and Brown at the draft this year fill the void forward.

struck down with a lis franc injury just when he was on the cusp of selection.

Oh i agree, we would have had to forgo getting Treloar to have had a chance at getting him (Rioli).

You look at all the genuinely good teams: Hawthorn - Rioli and Hill. Geelong: Motlop and Nakia Cockatoo. Adelaide: Betts and Cameron. yes they can have down days. But they can also spark a team from nowhere and win matches off their own boot. I have no idea why the Pies have not gone for that kind of player in any of the last few drafts. Even if in a rebuild you would want that kind of player coming and building with the group.

Eliott is the closest style player we have, but he is injured and he is more of a leaping marking forward. You also want more then one of these kinds of players on your list for the exact reason that injuries happen and it is very clear how badly we have missed him in our forward line.

Pickett? I though i read he was out for an extended period. Bah, love it GWS have that much talent on their list that they can lose a future gun and just slot another first round gun into his place on the list.
