If the kick is on the boundary next to the players race and he backs up into the race to take the kick, then play on is called, how long is "immediately
" to take the kick? Can an opponent then chase him up the race to tackle him? These are the sorts of issues that occur when the game doesn't apply the rules as they are written. |
on the question of whether you can be tackled when out of bounds, i believe the answer is no. I believe you need to allow them a straight run back into the field of play.
others think the rule is different?
I would argue how it is possible to play on when out of bounds in the first place since you are out of bounds, but that is a story for another day. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

If you walk around just inside the boundary line when shooting for goal from a mark or free kick then the ump will tell you no go back in a direct line. And technically if you don't then you have played on even when you are outside the boundary line.
see my example at Echuca. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |
