same big t loved back in the mid late 1980s and our lead up to the 1990 flag we used to play alot there at waverley some times we played there more then vic park and mcg.

Think in 1990 waverley was like our social club also aprt from vic park was based there also.

Mcg only became our home ground after 1999.

We had Fitzroy as a “co tenant” for a little while at Victoria Park - Wasn’t a very happy union to say the least 🥵

In fact, I remember one match against Fitzroy where our cheer squad had “Unwelcome Guests” or something similar on the banner and it inspired Fitzroy to beat us. Many serious questions were then asked…

Fitzroy was briefly a co-tenant in 1985-86.

Fitzroy beat us on both occasions at Vic Park in 1985.

We returned the favour in 1986.

We lived opposite when I was a teen and not only used to watch all the Pies games there, but used to sneak into other games or get tickets from people leaving at 3/4 time. I also used to catch redfin in the lake and dig up huge scrub worms from around the edge to go fishing elsewhere!
