Carlton. If we win, draw and quarter their carcass and dump it out the front of the 4 grounds where they performed their atrocities against us, Princess Park, Victoria Park, VFL Park and the MCG. It's time to exorcise those demons once and for all. Freedom! _________________ "The Club's not Jock, Ted and Gerry" (& Eddie)

Carlton. Early forecast for Saturday is 27 which would favour the Lions _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

I’m squarely in the former camp – 2002/2003 were where the roots of my angst as a Collingwood supporter were formed.
But I know enough about the club’s past to understand how much pain would be healed by beating Carlton for the first time in over a century and equalling their premiership record in one fell swoop. |
Mate very well observed re the grand final PTSD demographics...
Sadly for me, I have a reservation on the shrink's couch for each of them!
I was at the 1981GF as an 11 y/o, and it took what 9 years until 1990 to even begin to reconcile the damage done.
And of course the 2002/2003 back-to-back results just destroyed that list, and many of the long suffering supporters with it.
Either way, in a little over a weeks time, a trauma will be either vanquished, or simply added to the collection for further nostalgia for the next generation to reflect on in years to come.
So I choose Caaarlton; we must risk it all, to win it all.
If anybody thought this week just gone was a loooooong one..... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Carlton. I am going to be stressed out anyway, so may as well be against them. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

I choose Brisbane only because I would not want to run the risk of Carlton getting their 17th premiership and being the outright leader. _________________ How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say? |

The potential scenarios.
Play Brisbane
[*] Win = Premiership #16, level with Carlton and Essendon.
[*] Lose = Still on 15 premierships, 1 behind Carlton and Essendon.
Play Carlton
[*] Win = Premiership #16, level with Carlton and Essendon.
[*] Lose = Still on 15 premierships, 2 behind Carlton who are on 17.
Winning against either club produces the same outcome.
Losing to Brisbane would hurt, but doesn't change the premiership tally at the top.
Losing to Carlton. It becomes a calamity. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

My childhood years were the 2002/03 Grand Finals, but playing Carlton still sickens me to the core if it does eventuate. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Im 50/50.
Brisbane
pros: MCG is thier grave yard hardly ever win let alone play there
con: we have lost to them twice this year along with last year they are our bogey team
Carlton
pros: they would have to bunged up by then and maybe a case of runing out of petrol tickets also we have their measure in kind of some way
cons: nervy opponent ala 1970,1979 we just can not let them win it and make it 17 flags at our expense |

I understand the doomsday scenario of Carlton winning, but that's the thing: I don't want to lose to Brisbane or Carlton. I want us to win. And while I'm not necessarily afraid of facing Brisbane at the MCG, they have beaten us twice this year, and I do think we match up better against Carlton. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

^ Supporters of 17 other teams would be salivating at the thought of a GF.
For Pies supporters, it's dread and fear. Lose and we're 15 wins out of 45 GFs. Yikes! _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |
