well ive remained civil on this forum since ive been here never resorted to name calling or bagging Collingwood, unlike most of you bagging me or Port, and as for saying about the 30 odd years of bad memories i was just stating that that is your Traditional jumper and should be the jumper you choose to wear as it is the one that has won the premierships not this new one, if you want to go back to your other threads and discuss wonderful things like Rob Lowe then go for it, this is a discussion board and thats what were doing there was no need to get nasty, amazes me that 90% anything ever gets bought up in the AFL its Collingwood(Eddie) instagating it but soon as anyone else has a opinion and a vaild point to bring up you all jump on it, well Im afraid the world dosent revolve around Collingwood (nor does it Port) and you , like Port are just 1/16th of the league and no team is bigger then the AFL, i know Port is unveiling start of next year a teal or Silver jumper to wear away to avoid in any clashes, maybe if Collingwood stopped living in the past and living off the glory days and moved with the times the club and its supporters wouldnt be so despised, ive always stuck up for Collingwood and its supporters as i felt a affection for them as they are our sister club (I barracked for Collingwood until my team entered the AFL) but really dont know why i bothered, you have proved your not up to a discussion, the topic was never who is the better club, who owns the colours or the logo it was simply come up with a jumper that doesnt clash for one day a year, you can get a mod to delete my account if you cant handle the discussion but it would be pretty petty

The Fact is Collingwood wore Black And White before Port did !!!!
we wore Black and White in 1892 onwards Port wore is 1902 onwards
who gives a toss if its Black with White stripes or White with Black stripes its Black and White no matter what way you look at it
And no matter if we had a Black with White stripes or White with Black stripes jumper it would still clash with Ports so why is it an issue now ??? When port entered the comp why did they use colors Black White and Teal, Black and White colors clash with about 70% of sides in the comp so why enter the comp with those colors why is it such an issue now and it wasnt back then ??? I Think Port hates the fact weare the REAL Magpies and they dont like it one bit. So lets stick it up Port and wear our Black and White Jumper

Port in recent times has been wearing the jumper with the white on it, well the past anyways. If they are so worried, change the jumper back to the old style, and get over it. We aren;t changing, so shut up and move on...Port lost this arguement before it started, so why keep trying to force the issue? Your opinion was heard, now quietly go back to whining about the jumper somewhere else.

As there was no jumper clash when Collingwood (wearing a white back) and Port Adelaide (also wearing the white back) WHY bother the AFL abour a change now? Collingwood will always wear this jumper, regardless of any more whining and moaning from Mark Williams and the rest of the Port Adelaide fans/team members.


As for the game generating more interested, I thought there would of already been interest in the game because of the fact Collingwood went over there and beat them in the finals last year. So obviously the water in South Australia is being spiked... if the rest of the AFL can play without worrying about a "colour" clash, why can't Port? What is different? Why not whine about Essendon's jumper? Or even Richmonds jumper? All have black at the back, although Richmond have yellow numbers makes no difference in my mind.

Channel 7 news tonight in Adelaide had on the original colours of Port....pale blue with white hoops.........If they wear SANFL port magpies jumpers in the round 19 heritage week......then the AFL will OWN the colours.

Boss351, I think the clash of jumpers isn't too bad. There are a lot worse clashes than this. I reckon from the front the Teal gives enough difference. I actually think the old mainly white jumper which has black number would cause more of a clash for spectators looking at the back of players.
With my Collingwood hat on, you are dreaming to ask Collingwood to change their jumper. You mention the change from mainly white to mainly black but this is a relatively minor change. To avoid any clash would require substantial changes. Collingwood people wont wear this.
Now let me put an AFL hat on .... if the AFL beleive strongly enough that the clash is a problem, then they should have the balls to force clubs to change. If they dont force alternate strips, only weak clubs with much less tradition will change on their own accord. eg St Kilda. You will NOT get strong clubs like Collingwood or Essendon to change. The AFL don't do this because they are a useless bunch of gutless wimps.
So, no use trying to argue with us Collingwood fans ... your argument is with the AFL.
