Indeed. Particularly the responsibility to control the primitive Neanderthal emotions within which drive us to punish others under the fraudulent pretext of some greater good.

Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices Rolling Eyes

The off-season is as good a time as any to discuss religion; say on, Lazza...

Simple

1. things you do cause other things to happen ('even the wise cannot see all ends')
2. sometimes those other things happen to you
3. only by meditating for a thousand million eternities can you hope to escape the karmic cycle of birth and rebirth

Very simple!! You reap what you sow (there is your religious quote pietillidie !!)

Every single action has a reaction in life, in footy and with everytrhing else.... Rolling Eyes

If players misbehave (action), they have to then obviously deal with the consequences of their choice to misbehave (reaction).

Hands up anyone who has changed their position based on any of the (occaisional) arguments contained in proceeding 10 pages?

Yeah, but that's nonsensical because we as a society often decide on that consequence. So, in Saudi Arabia you might get your hand cut off for stealing, whereas in Australia you might get a community service order. In both countries and everywhere else, you might get away with the crime altogether. Likewise, under the current AFL junta, if you misbehave you get some kind of club/league sanction on top of the legal consequences; 30 years ago, you might just have had to deal with the latter. Unless you believe that 'karma' makes up for the discrepancy (and I don't!), then all we can conclude is that every action has consequences of... some kind? Laughing

I have changed my position.

I was leaning back skimming through the comments and now I am leaning forward typing.

For what it is worth, this is what I call a good roll model...

LOL!! You wrote about something apparently "nonsensical" and then you end up with something extremely similar to what was said in the first place!! Laughing

Irrespective of where you live or what country, society, commune or even in scum feral land in Carlton, every action (choice of decision, behaviour, comment, etc.) indeed has a consequence of some kind (ie. a reaction from someone affected by the decision, upset by the behaviour, offending by the comment etc.)

Marley Williams chose to punch someone (action). He received the consequence from Collingwood today (reaction). Rolling Eyes SIMPLE!! Cool

I'd be surprised if anyone has.

ah Liam Jurrah in trouble again. hands up if you want your kid wearing this guys number on his jumper, 5 times over the leagl limit, .257.

his grandmothers says its no ones business but the families - shes right to, because luckily he didnt kill or maim anyone on the way home.

dont give me the cultural shit this time. this is surely where personal responsibility comes into it.

The thing is Jurrah getting pissed will not make your kids alcoholics.
Your kids are not going to justify drunkenness based on his example.
Your own behavior, family, neighbors and your friends will have a greater effect.

And this is ignoring peer group pressure and ADVERTISING.
