Spot on defender

Also add in that the jury is well and truly out on:
White and Karnezis.

The plan is working so well we are wasting time and/or dollars taking discards Greenwood and Varcoe and Crisps.

Bucks is all in with 8-5 unsuited.
Fold that 2015 hand Bucks and get a fresh set.

I'll remind you that MM recruited a host of washed up Eagle duds like Rintoul, Morrison, Cummings and another whose name I've forgotten.

The Morrison deal was so good we drifted from 7 to 10 in the draft and missed out on Lewis (picking up Chris Egan instead whom i remember being told we would have taken at 7). The spin is not isolated to the current coach, it is a constant for every club in every era.

This nonsense has got to stop. Greenwood is not a "discard". He came second in North's best and fairest this year.

It is on the record that North only went to 325k pa over 2 years.
We are offering 450k over 4 years.

Discard may be too strong a term.

But these are players that their current clubs are not really trying to keep and we are offering significantly more to recruit them.

Whilst you are picking me up on semantics, at the same time Bucks is continuing to offload our premiership heroes in the name of changing the culture.

And you wanted us to offer what to Daisy ? You need to keep a consistency in your arguments.

my comments are on the record here at the time of Daisy's limbo period

In summary i wanted Collingwood to try and keep him - to do all it reasonably could.

The reality appears to be we washed our hands, laughed in his face and didn't even give him something to think about.

He eventually returned to Victoria in 2003 when he was traded to Collingwood in return for Damien Adkins. Williams had a solid first year for the Magpies, playing 22 games before suffering injury in the Qualifying Final against Brisbane.

Kicked a lot of goals too as I recall.

WIN !!

Do the 2 of you have any idea ??

Do you? With Beams leaving we had a choice, we could recruit b gradeish mature age players this year 'or' throw the book at a superstar next year, one of these ways may lead to a flag, the other has us closer to a prise no one wants until draft day.

The salary cap issue is with 2015 not 2016. A couple of 350 -400k contracts annually for 3 -4 years are not going to diminish our ability to transact deals for 2016. The cap goes up incrementally each year, it is not static. The next CBA is up for negotiation in 12 months. There are significant changes expected in the TPP in that negotiation. Yeah i do have an idea and it lasts a little while longer than the instant gratification required in your noggin.

The salary cap goes up by about 4.5% per year next year and the year after (roughly put, about $450K per year). Clubs are obliged to pay 95% of the cap as a minimum, so there isn't a great deal of room to stockpile, although - for the first time - clubs that underspend (ie, pay at least 95% but less than 100%) will be able to overspend the following year. That means, I suppose, that there could be up to about $1 million dollars available to a club in a given year to "target" a big name player, if it paid the 95% minimum, even before allowing for retirements, trades, terminating contracts and the like.

Chad Rintoul:

Rintoul went to Collingwood in the 2001 pre season draft. Chad was plagued with migraines in 2002 after many concussions and was forced to retire.

Pre Season Draft - cost nothing
Probably 2 year deal on next to minimum wage.

So, we'll see how pick 21 goes compared to Crisp in the next few years given we baulked 5, 21 and 25 in favour on 5, 25 and Crisp

It looks like 450k and 400k for 4 years
Lets say 800k.

- 2 kids 150k

Do u know what 650k will buy u?

Lets see Treloar say no to that, plus we let Dekker have 2 extra shots in the draft.

No, but whoever is drafted at that spot or later is a good comparison.

Actually Brisbane said no to 21, as they needed it to get Allen Christensen.

We wanted it, they said no.

We didn't baulk at that deal. We put it on the table and Brisbane knocked it back last week.
