Yeah I also think Kennedy will come in given the conditions. As Tannin says might be the ideal time to give Grundy a rest and let Witts take the no 1 ruck. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Skills are not less important in the wet, but pace, I think is. They also lack quality small forwards and we find it easy to pick off their entries. At the other end, they've always had trouble containing Cloke, hopefully that will continue.
Witts and the weather? I think he can still play. Richmond are playing two rucks and a ruck/forward, just as we would be. The only issue that I see is, as a forward his best asset, strangely enough, is his leading. If it is a wet night, that becomes difficult and his impact reduced. If there is no Witts, then White and Keeffe will need to play much more ruck than they have in other games this season, as Grundy definitely needs support.
Pretty confident about this one. I think it will be the Pies by 27 points. |
I think we have had their measure because they like to play the game on the outside & we have smashed them in contested ball in those games.
In the 3rd quarter last year when we turned the screws up & went bezerk we more than doubled them in contested ball & tackles. I don't think they like it hard & panic in the trenches. If we let them play uncontested footy & chip the ball around without pressure they will knock us over. |

The pies are looking the more settled side with better recent form for mine.
17 point win coming up is the tip.
Looking forward to seeing how Josh Thomas steps up to the plate.
The boy had a great first season last year. If he continues to show improvement he will be a good player for us.
Please the big fella is back too.
Look to see Wittsy playing from the square.
He showed promise doing just that last year.
Brodie needs a chop out as well.
Very impressed with Wittsy's tackling and pressure on the opponent in rd 1 as well. Let's turn on the tap Jarrod and see what you've got. You have worked long and hard for this. _________________ woodsmen rule |

If Witts and Grundy play together tonight, I think we lose. |

the more i think about the more i like the idea. the ball will be greasy so lots of contests at the fall of the ball. i expect one of our small men to kick a bag. if we get a couple each from cloke and white i'll be pleased. i predict mo change to the line up.
the weight of expectation will be on richmond. they will crumble. if they don't i will see you all after anzac day. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Need to get off to a great start for a change.
Ninthmond always seem to get off to flyers and then fizzle out.

Make of this what you will, but every betting agency has been hit hard in the last few hours, we've been backed in dramatically.
You could get $1.80 about us last night, now you're lucky to get $1.50.
No idea why, it's rare to see such an across the board move in an AFL game though. |

This is also true. Their mids are not usually able to match ours. But the quality running teams are able to hurt us on the counter attack. Richmond struggle to do this, and like we do to Sydney, we're able to bottle them up and force them into stagnant ball movement and long kicking into the 50. _________________ Well done boys! |

Got me buggered why Kennedy wasn't included in the side this week.
