Some don't seem to really watch our games.

Blair's still copping it (particularly in the Game On thread) and yet he had just 3 disposals less than one Scott Pendlebury AND @ a better D/E.

Obviously the wee lad is the new Nicks whipping boy, some fans on here have just gotta have a whipping boy. Confused

Given that Pendles is playing with an injured Achilles (and is being tagged) and that disposal efficiency is at best a misleading stat, it really doesn't say much for Blair.

Whoever thinks that Blair is a better small forward than Paul Williams, Leon, Krak, Elliot, Didak, Fasolo and/or Medhurst cannot be taken seriously.

Don't worry Donny, I have a few brickbats in the bag to lob at that particular poser when the opportunity presents!

All jokes aside, I think the point you make confirms the old saying 'Lies, damn lies and statistics'

I've got nothing against Blair personally, but realistically if we're going to improve we need someone better to replace him on the forward line.He just doesn't cut it as a small forward. So many goals going begging every week because we don't have any ground level players at the fall of the ball. He's just never there, and doesn't seem to have the real instincts of a small forward.Maybe he's better off as a midfielder,i don't know, but he's definitely not what you need as a small forward.

Excellent! I'll have Alfred prepare your costume.

The reference, however, seems to have passed you by...

Ah, seems I better watch the Burton 1989 version again.
IIRC, this won't end well for me, now that I think about it... Sad

I went through this whole thread...aside from piedys calling him a 'oxygen thief witches hate', I couldn't find one example of the bolded, or what Redlight referred to as 'vitriol'.....I think there is some jousting at windmills going on here

Hey - I resemble that remark! Shocked

Oxygen thieving witch hat, to be precise.

And even that was unfair. Technically they're training cones.

Despite his baffling selection last night, he had a go for us and did some okay things, but Caleb Daniel makes him look amateurish.

To the changed OP title: I think he's just pipped by Medhurst, Davis L, Davis N, Krak, Didak and Daisy. Have I missed some?

I think it was collateral damage in a thread merge - theBat had a different title for this thread last night...

As opposed to the threads on Cloke, Aish before he came good, De Goey, Goldsack.....?

Tell me, what is it about Blair that makes any comment or criticism of his game such a sin?

No player should be immune to criticism but Blair could be BOG with 30 possessions and 5 goals and he'd still cop it.

He'll probably keep his spot on our list, but should be predominantly a VFL player next season. He's brave and committed, but he simply doesn't have enough tricks to warrant a regular spot.

I've been waiting a few seasons for Blair to get squeezed out of the senior side. Maybe 2017 with All of Elliott, Fasolo, and Broomhead fit and available and continued improvement from Phillips and Crocker.
