I dunno Tess "you imbocile" and "the dickheads" along with a few more sound quite personal if you ask me.

just on the flags being stolen, don't the CS have a property stuard to look after that stuff?

They did have, but I think that went by the wayside too, not entirely sure. But they put the flags and things out in the rows and those that sit there can use them. They are supposed to leave them there at the end of the game or hand them back, but some do leave with them.

I know when I was in Perth sitting with the CS i was trying to collect the flags and stuff from the rows further back and could see how easily it would be to just leave with one.

It's not good old Collingwood
September 21, 2006

IT seems the Collingwood cheer squad isn't very cheerful.

There's been drama within the group ever since Pie boss Eddie McGuire argued with some of its members after Collingwood's finals loss to the Bulldogs when he asked to see Jeff "Joffa" Corfe.

"I said I was here to say goodbye to a mate, that's all," McGuire said at the time. "But they kept going, so I said, 'Go and get stuffed'."

Well, tensions have reached boiling point, and about 240 members have signed a petition demanding that they take back control of the squad from staff within the club.

"Some of the people from Collingwood that run the squad don't even barrack for Collingwood," one anonymous member told The Eye.

"We don't even have a say what we put on banners."

It seems some of the squad also have a major problem with Joffa.

"People don't want him and his gold jacket there," our insider said.

Typical petty squabbling - Pity "the insider" didnt have the guts to put his name to his quote......just innuendo and gossip and pre school stuff.

Spot on...the 'insider' was more than likely a cover for a lazy hack just trolling boards like this for a few 'facts'.

and a couple of off topic posts deleted

I believe that at least 90% of us would have some kind of concern/problem about how things were run by the club over the past couple of years. So!! Is it wrong of us to want to change some of those things? This is what the meeting is all about. One thing 'the insider' forgot to mention, is that we do have the club's support on this.

Was everyone happy with the way in which the Finals Tickets were issued this year?
Is everyone satisfied with the type and the amount of flags we have in the cheer squad at the moment?
Would you like 'get togethers' through out the season? Or maybe sponsor a player?
How about being able to have a say in how your cheer squad is constructed?

I'll leave those thoughts with you.

Couldnt agree more, changes are defiantly on the cards mark my words.
Its been determined 80% are disgruntled with curreny squad 'cheerleaders' and nearly all pie members are demanding an upheavel.

Will keep you posted.

Nearly all Pies members demanding an upheaval eh - just out of curiousity how did you work that out - surely not based on the results of a little poll on an Internet Board - or did I miss the member's questionnaire or phone survey conducted by the club with all the 38 odd thousand Pie members Rolling Eyes
