What a crock of shit from the officiating maggots of the day. How hard can it be to give us a well deserved free kick. They just won't do it! It won't look good on there stats sheet of the Hawks lost and the free kick count favoured Collingwood! It's not meant to be according to the afl, mafia.

A massive stat which shows just how great our endeavour has been:
Contested ball Pies: 77-59
That's not something we've done against the Hawks in a long while.
A huge tick to be winning all of clearances, centre clearances, contested ball and tackles.

The real problems is this
The Hawks have created six fewer turnovers than the Pies but have booted seven goals to two from turnovers.
Sook and cry as much as you want about frees, it's our own turnovers that are killing us.
Stop the mistakes and we win.

Awesome first half! Pressure intense. Contested ball fantastic.When the ball hits the ground, we are king.
Cloke playing a blinder.I love the big guy. Pendlebury is Pendlebury. Loved the mental toughness.Hawthorn looked
about to break away, but we lifted massively.
In the second half, need to contain Rioli..and stop him from getting doft free kicks!! |

That response might be relevant if Hawthorn didn't routinely scrag and apply quite inappropriate physical force. They remind me of the Richmond side of 1980 - they do so many illegal things that the umpires seem to think they can't whistle them all, so they get away with this rubbish week after week. I worry sometimes about where football is heading when I see the game umpired this way. I don't, by the way, think the umpires are biased, merely that the style of officiating is hopeless and ruining the game as a spectacle.
Also (not that it really matters much), some of Collingwood's "frees" have been paid when, eg, Langdon took a mark and then when White killed his man in the contest and turned him (so he was about 20 yards clear of the contest with the ball in his hand when the infringement was actually whistled), so the stat itself is fairly meaningless. |

My expectation is that we won't be able to play such good footy for 4 quarters and the Hawks will get over the top.
Obviously hoping we beat the odds and finish strongly for the win of course.

Yep their killing us at clearances, it's a known fact that they are the best side around clearances. Agree with you Swoop42 if we can get a few more we can give them a few headakes. |
