Burns will not be going... don't be silly. We're not that stupid. Maybe we'll trade Buckley back as well, and send Tarkyn back to WA. Anth could head off and play with Sav and Tarrant could go back to sucking on bongs. It aint gunna happen. He's a core player.

Trade touted for Dockers' Koops
By Peter Ker
October 6, 2003

Quote:
The Kangaroos and Collingwood are among several Melbourne clubs to show early interest in out-of-favour Fremantle forward Steven Koops.

Koops struggled to maintain a regular place in the Fremantle side this year, and looms as a likely trade after his manager contacted several clubs about a transfer for the 25-year-old.

The Kangaroos and Collingwood both confirmed yesterday that they were aware of Koops's availability and voiced preliminary interest in him.

What's everyones thoughts on that?

Hey Joel

Is he based in the forward line or in the back line usually...I think I am getting him confused with Dion Woods.

Dont know if he would suit our style? We need more bullocking players...ie Dean Solomon.

I would rather give up Holland and O'Bree (actually I rather wouldn't) but Burns has to stay....Scotland is obvously not in MM grand scheme of things and rupe either...would be physically sick if I saw them in Port Colours, but they would be suitable trades, especially Scotland...I think he is an absolute gun of a player but is not getting his chances at the Pies...he would be very valuable in trade week..

Cheers

If Koops was struggling to get a game at Freo then he would struggle even more to get a game with us.

Thats a big call with Holland missing out. How about Dean Solomon for Richard Cole.

Heath Scotland is a class act. Wins plenty of the football and uses it better than most in the team. At 23 he is only a baby and will develop into a midfield general, if givin time on the ground.
Collingwood would be mad to trade him.

Scotty Burns on the otherhand is hitting 30, has a history of soft tissue injuries and cannot get any better. He is super player but lets get real here. If we want the best to come to our club, then we need to let something pretty good go. Trade him now ( it sounds ruthless ) while he still has some real value in the market place.

wish you people would stop talking about keeping Scotland, we know he has talent and ability and so does collingwood but he has value in the trade, and fact is he won't get much games next year with the current midfield and king, shaq, cloke all coming in. he will be in willy town so why keep him? he knows this and thats why he asked to be traded.

so quit saying to keep him

Burns on the other hand, this could go either way we trade him, he doesn't get any better and retires in the next couple years or we trade him and he becomes one of the AFL's best and finally gets credit..but with another club. Burns is a great clubman, he is a great footballer and a great guy, i wouldn't trade him for anyone but thats just me.
