Eunos you are more than entitled to your own opinion, but when you claim that all religions suck, are you basing this on your own independent research or have you also been influenced by television, newspapers etc... |

"All religions suck" is a line from the Dead Kennedys song Religious Vomit from way back, but I'm not sure an ELO fan like Eunos woulda been a DK's fan...I don't think they had a lot of crossover appeal. |

Eunos you are more than entitled to your own opinion, but when you claim that all religions suck, are you basing this on your own independent research or have you also been influenced by television, newspapers etc... |
Hahahaha....so, I'm influenced by TV, Radio, etc etc, and that means my view about all religions is invalid?
Meanwhile you, and your brethren from all forms of religion, run about like headless chooks trying to justify your particular version of centuries, in some cases millenia, old documents that can never be proven to be fact.
Faith of course makes you believe. Nothing wrong with that. Only thing wrong with ALL religions is their tendency to want everyone to adhere to their rules. If you don't toe the line, history shows that theres a good chance you will end up dead.
Time to ban all forms of religion. The world would be a better place for it. |

Yeah, your right Eunos. We could also get rid of hospitals and aged care facilities as well as shelters and welfare groups. Name any of these things that did not have its genesis in one religion or another. Tell me how much atheism and its religious followers have contributed to society.

Are you sure about that Eunos? I think you'll find that religion has benefited us in many ways (as Nuxta mentioned, charity etc), and a lack of something to believe in could be a dangerous thing for the world. How do you explain the fact that those who actually do live their life according to the Bible's teachings turn out to be so balanced in life and caring and thoughtful of others? I find this somewhat of a paradox, due to the fact that I find it impossible to believe in a God of any kind. Still, just from the people I know who do believe in a religion (whether it be Christianity, Islam or Judaism), it is undeniable that religion does play a beneficial role to some extent.

Eunos, I never stated that you were influenced by TV, radio etc... I was merely asking you what you were basing your opinion on, and your failure to produce any theoretical evidence suggests that you are in fact influenced by the media.
The Holy Quran, unlike some other millennia old documents, has preserved its original form, as it promised. If you are questioning the legitimacy of the Holy Quran, I encourage you to research the many scientific miracles in this book. I can point you in the right direction if you like. If you are still not convinced, I would ask that you bring forth some evidence of contradictions and mistakes in the Holy Quran, which would prove that it is not the genuine word of God.
And your call to ban all religions seems like an attempt to get everyone to adhere to your atheist rules. You have contradicted yourself. |
