unfortunate for this kid, however i still believe some of these kids are too young. lucky to have not received any other injuries. Season over for him it seems. i would not risk him back.load up for next season.

Go Pies!!!

You are spot on Dead Man who Walks!!!! Cool

The kids are too young and their bodys not developed enough.

Dipper, Ayres, Micky Tuck all had 50 reserves games behind them before they played senior footy.

The lists are too small and need addressing. Wink

" Dipper, Ayres, Micky Tuck all had 50 reserves games behind them before they played senior footy"

Hard to fathom that M Tuck played 50 Res games before his 426 senior games, must have started playing when he was 10

I'll think you'll find that Tuck played over 100 games in the magoo's.

That said, it becomes an opportunity for somebody else to "step up".

And who know's, maybe DT will live in the "chamber" for the next few weeks and make a remarkable recovery - or is it "just a ruse" to throw off the scent .......

Damn. That's awful luck, and all he was doing was devoting himself to the cause. He's been the spark this year, pardon the pun. Hope he can return, but, hey, that's unlikely.

Good luck, Dale. Hope to see you in for the finals action.

Time for Ego to stand up.

has to be counted as charging surely, the player had no eyes for the ball, looked at the kid and took out his legs while he was in the air, other sports like union it is considered a siteable offence and one of the weakest acts going around, but as you said it is against a Collingwood player...

Not sure if it was intentional or not (if it is Van Berlo you speak of). But as the Ox said on SEN, tunnelling does happen in the AFL.

Balme said the club hopes both Leon and Dale are back for finals.
It's not a foregone conclusion guys.

He could come back. Dean Cox is back after 5 weeks and training fully after 4 weeks. Don't write him off. The kid's a big game player and could make an impact in week 2 and 3 of the finals.

Dale has 6 years on coxy as well, so might be recovered a bit earlier.

If they decide to pull him out for the rest of the season I would like to see Danny Nicholls get premoted off rookie list.Has been playing well at Williamstown by all reports.Might give a chance to a young player like Ryan Cook if his form in the 2's improves.
Dont rush Thomas back if his not quite right remembering he all hurt his shoulder a couple of weeks back in the game against WC.Could be same shoulder.Rest up and get fat.

COLLINGWOOD is still hopeful Dale Thomas will play again this season after the teenager had surgery to repair a broken collarbone yesterday.

Thomas suffered concussion after a crash landing in the final quarter of the Magpies' four-point loss to Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

Tests later revealed the 19-year-old had broken his collarbone in the heavy fall.

Magpies football manager Neil Balme was yesterday unsure how long the operation would sideline Thomas, but would not rule out a return.

I agree. Nicholls and Tooves have both been very promising for Willy of late. The more kids we blood this year, the better.
