Ed, glad you responded to stop that rot that had been posted today.
If we can play all our interstate games at Carrara, and get a pretty penny from the AFL for that, I am all for it. After all, the gold coast is a mighty fine place to spend a few days! (I will be doing just that with my kids, and grandkids in March!)
It is very nice to have you back on Nicks, don't leave it so long before you post again mate! _________________ Kaylene.

Thanks everyone, I was a bit worried about the poll to roll me, November 22 isn't a great date for Irish Catholic Democratic Presidents!!!!(JFK for the younger brigade).
Everyone at the club particularly me shares a hatred of that dungheap on Royal parade, but unfortunatly it looks like it will have to do for the moment.
We were desperate and continue to be, to play at Victoria Park and hope to do so in the future when the council are finished with their workings there.
Other things are in the pipeline.
Will keep in touch.
By the way I saw Mr.Hiss' post re lunch Christmas day. We will be having our annual Christmas lunch for our friends at the club which I will be able to attend this year.
I will get the club site to highlight the options on Christmas day at our other venues.

G'day Eddie, great to hear from you!
i was just wondering, what are your thoughts, on eventually making the ponsford stand collingwood only, to create a surreal atmosphere on game day?
Keep up the great work:D

Keep up the great work Eddie.
While I've got your attention, there's a young 19 yr old kid from Central Australia (from Yuendumu actually), Liam Jarrah, who's looking at coming down to Melbourne to try out with Collingwood's VFL side as a permit player. Believe me, he's better than Goodes (just ask Rupert Betheras). Just remember his name when he goes in the draft next year.
Now that i've got that off my chest, as I said, well done Eddie, keep up the good work.

It's extremely comforting to see you respond directly to the supporters. Credibility is everything in the fishbowl of the AFL, and by talking directly to the Nicks diehards proves you have it in spades.

Its a big call but i'd go as to far as to say if we played home VFL games at Vic park attendence would be double that at Scumvillie Park. I know i would attend more there. Just like I love watching AFL @ the G and not the dump. _________________ Like Nicks, why not donate

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the response and the sense......................we are very lucky to have such a credible President.........
I know that you only think Collingwood 1st and foremost and plans that you and the board are considering for the future will be in the Clubs best interest!!
I have emailed the Club today.....about the purchase of 30 Football caps , I want to send to an orphange in Namibia. I hope that the Club can help out, in a discount way.................it will spread the name of Collingwood on the African continent.

Congratulations to you, Mr McGuire, and your exceptional team on a great year with the books again and we are just one bloody straight kick off filling the trophy cabinet too!
The club's efforts in retaining a formal connection to Victoria Park are greatly appreciated as well.
2008 promises to be a massive season and lets all hope we can gather on September 28 on our hallowed turf to celebrate this mighty club's 16th premiership. (VFA Counts in my books )
Go Pies!

Hey Eddie,
Gidday from WA. Firstly, congrats and thankyou from me for the vision and growth you have brought to Collingwood FC. A massive effort and I appreciate it immensely.
I have very mixed emotions about the "concept". I get to the G for a couple of games each year. But I love it when we come to Perth. Hard to win, but geez the elation when we do.
imo WCE's '06 cup is tainted with suspicion, Brisbane won their 3 with uneven salary cap advantages. Would ours ???
I am so proud of our club. It's a decision which I know you, Eugene and the board are the right people to make. If the AFL go for it, I have told my boss to organise a transfer to Brisbane for me, they've offered to buy me a one way ticket several times!!
You do a good job Ed, one day I'll vote for ya to be PM. _________________ Taobh le taobh bata muid le chéile |
