Why do Collingwood supporters continue to subject themselves to the false hope of a big name players coming to Collingwood every year?

^^ I hold no hope of us landing any big names but I can't see why we can't cause other clubs a little grief by bumping up the value of the players they want to re-sign.

I would be offering mega bucks for the simple reason to put a strain on the scum keeping him within their salary cap... hope the godfather is in a cell and cannot make him an offer he cannot refuse.

Then again word has it Gato might take the reins Very Happy

OK then Frank, please explain why logic is lacking?

Fairly simple I would have thought, who/why would anyone at Collingwood spend 1 minute of their time in even considering what the salary cap procrastinations are at Carlton in some deep seated conspiracy to artificially inflate their cap in securing Murphy.

Logic, first get some

In this era of caps and drafts, I would have thought the salary cap issues at all clubs would be of some interest to collingwood. And increasing what opposition clubs have to pay their players may lead to the other clubs having to let go of a star or two. Not saying that it will land us any big names but surely it would **** with the other clubs, which in turn, can only benefit collingwood.

Of course, the same can be done to us...

Remember Murphy had the choice to go to the Lions but rejected that to go to the Blues. I'd say he is pretty committed to the cause when you chose Carlton over a decent team.

I understand the theme of this topic jimbeam...but it would be a huge waste of energy

It was simply a choice of moving to Brisbane or staying in Melbourne

Of course we should try and go after him and not to bump up his price but to actually try and get him, Fev wants heaps, Stevens is probably earning alot, Judd we know is on plenty, he might decide to leave and who knows, maybe we could do a trade. Carlton need defenders, give em Maxwell and some draft picks Laughing

Firstly I would love to see Murphy in Collingwood colours, but the reality is he is probably very happy at carlscum. He has an elite midfielder to learn off (Judd) and is part of a young and up-and-coming team. As hard as it is to admit that.
On the other point, trying to stuff with carlscum's salary cap. I really don't think their going to need any help with that one, their already experts at it. What's the saying - once a cheater always a cheater.

Mark Murphy is another Kouta. Still follows the Pies even though he wears the Blues jumper. Its just a job. Mark was quietly hoping Carlton went for Dale then he would be with us.

If Collingwood were to play their cards right he would be glad to walk through Lexus Centre doors.

Was Murphy a Pie, i know for a fact kreuzer was.

99% sure he was/is a Magpies supporter

100% a North Melbourne supporter.

Any chance we can forget about all this talk about signing Murphy, Cousins and the like.

Hey everyone we still have 9 rounds of Footy to go and hopefully a Finals Series, can we please concentrate on this and then talk about this kinda crap at Seasons end?

No thanks. I don't want to come on here and see more mindless bagging of a player who can't kick.

I am in one of those moods, you know Very Happy

and i feel like pissing Nicks posters off tonight, possibly into tomorrow and the remaining week.

So while i mash all combinations of buttons together trying to piss you all off to find your red button, i get this solution.

kernahan: Hey Jimbeam, you champion, Murph just wont sign with us, and you being collingwood and us carlton and the amount of love we share i thought i would give you firwst crack at a trade solution.

Jimbeam: Hey Stevo, whats up G, yeh ok i will give you Travis Cloke and our 2nd round draft pick.

Kernahan: Send him over, i will draw up the paperwork tonight, oh btw, did i say your a legend.

Jimbeam: silence and cricket noises with the occasional frog sound.
