well an away point in the bank, just above the drop zone now but need more points!

have arsenal and then Chelsea at home coming up, need to get at least one or 2 points out of those matches. Need to beat the smoggies and pompey or it's all over.

First 15 mins or so last night very promising, good shape, some confident touches from our more skillful players in Viduka and Martins, Duff was tracking back well for a natural attacking player, Smith, Butt, Barton chopping of passes in the centre of the park.......
then the goal and it all turned to sh1t. Liverpool were taking the piss in the 2nd half.

Why did Lovencrap start instead of Owen? Has he announced hes leaving or something? Had a bust up with Shearer? Owen at 50% is surely a better option than him, or Guttierez, or even Smith in a more attacking role with Guthrie in midfield (and i'm not a fan of Guthrie).

And another thing - Kinnear kept doing this, i've been swearing at the tv most of the season because of it - why play right sided players down the left and left sided players down the right?????
They get into good positions by making good runs, and then are not capable of providing quality balls on their opposite feet.
Infuriating!!
It was Martins and Lovenkrans last night, Guttierez and Duff in Kinnears' time. Mad

I we don't get all three points next week, its all over.

Even then, we will need to win one more out of Fulham and Aston Villa and I just can't see us beating either of those teams because we couldn't score in a brothel and our defense leaks like a sieve.

What you reckon about the apparant bust-up between Joey Barton and Alan Shearer??
Red card means he'll miss the last 3 games anyways, might struggle to get picked up by another top flight manager due to combination of on field discipline, off field dramas, and injury proneness.

He supposedly bagged The Great Mans tactics in the sheds??

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

3-1

Couple of great goals, still looked shaky at the back though.........

A fit Viduka and Martins most of the season and we wouldnt be in this position. 2 absolute class players that are all quality.

Got up at 5am to watch it. Nearly made up for the pies dismal performance.

Bring on Fulham!

Yeah, got up at 5.00 to watch it too.

Put me in a much better frame of mind to turn up to work in, after watching Monday nights rubbish, and getting up with a hangover.

When Martins scored, I put my Newcastle shirt on with "Martins 9" on the back (that my sensational missus got me for christmas), and was jumping around the lounge room like a bloody goose! What a tool!

seems collingwood isn't the only team that gets screwed by the officials.

perfectly good goal disallowed and then a dubious red card to rub salt into the wounds a few mins later. To make matters worse, hull draws at bolton so we need a miracle at villa next week to stay up.

Sad Sad

... and as stupid as it sounds Hull are a good chance at home next weekend against what will undoubtly be a much weaker Man U side as they'll be resting up players for the CL final on Thursday.
