it will be hard getting a ground, due to cricket season starting.

unless we just use a local ground but they have no boundry lines

who cares? im sure we all know roughly where the line would go and we can just guess if its on the full or a throw in Very Happy

^^^ Laughing Laughing better tell your team mates that, the 1st time the guys that i was playing on were still running with the ball after it crossed the line Razz

i can think of 1 ground (maybe 2) where there is goal posts without the line, but there is like a hard pitch in the middle of the ground on 1 of the grounds

we used to go with Glenferrie
no lines etc, just the goals and thats all we needed.
but that ground was deadly last i saw. if you fell over on that round you would shave the skin on your knees off.
as hard as a rock. and not much grass

Collingwood preseason starts on Nov 9th so the posts should be back at Gosch's Paddock by the 8th.

Vic Park has no lines and resurfacing is scheduled for the end of this month. However, I will check tomorrow if this has been delayed.

Yarra City have postponed the resurfacing of Victoria Park. I just don't have the date yet. Looks like end of November.

Stay tuned. May still be the best option as there is no cricket, the ground is in great nick and the gates are now open 24/7. There is also plenty of cover in case it rains.

For $150 I may be able to get the change rooms in the Sherrin Stand open for the day too. Don't hold your breath though, after last time we are not too popular with the council.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I stayed back until about 7ish and cleaned up what little mess there was.

The day was great, everyone well behaved, but some paper pushers back at town hall got their noses out of joint and because their were more than 20 people on the ground at the one time. OH&S this and OH&S that.

Everybody had a great day in great spirits and that really got up the council's nose.

Also note that there will be an open day for the S A Coventry Pavilion (Social Club) in November and works are underway to tidy up the building as we speak. It will most likely be a Saturday though and mid to late November.

^

The council want it to be public land, what's more appropriate than a bunch of people having a kick of the footy, a feed and a few quiet drinks? Can't have it both ways.
