yeh it shits me that america thinks they are more important than everyone else. they go on like its the end of the world bcos the space shuttle blew up (yes its sad those ppl died but thats not what its really about).
america is alright but im getting sick and tired of hearing about them every five seconds (and yes it is about that frequent).
oh and why would we need to go and live in space? maybe bcos the world is trashed from all the BOMBS being dropped here there and everywhere, by none other than, AMERICA!

Can a mod lock this topic! this has turned from a message of greef by some of us who truely feel greef over the loss of columbia, into sum sort of argument about politics and who hates the US more.
I hope that some day no one disrespects your feelings of greef and sorrow as you people have done to some of us, just B'cuase you don't feel it, that is no excuse to show no respect to those that do. I find it absolutly disgraceful!.

I dont believe that it has anything to do with us.The Yanks arent interested in our home problems,they arent interested in our FOOTBALL or our domestic dramas.The only one worried about our domestic dramas is JWH and he has got a 10,0000 mile dog lead around his neck.Everytime GWB says jump Howard says 'how high'

Actually i think this has been the topic of the year..if you dont like ..SIMPLE..dont read it..The americans are hell bent in taking the world to war via iraq..they will murder hundreds upon hundreds of iraqi citizens in the attempt to prove how mightier they are than saddam hussein..These same hypocrites pray for the souls of 7 astronauts but will not care for the massacre they are about to commit on iraq...They can send missions into space but cant apprehend one person in a foreign country..STRANGE isnt it !!

A debate it may be but one that will never be resolved, whether there is a war or not. How many of us know the full story about the yanks plans, aussies plans, the events planned by Iraq etc etc.....none of us here have a clue of all the facts of either side let alone both.

I have an opinion but its relied on the media presentations given to us...reliable??? I think not. I will never get all the facts so I'd prefer not to comment too much on something I know nothing about - but just have an opinion.

however...

Its our media who screened the tragedy on all channels and made it big news in Australia.

America didn't force channel 7, 9 or 10 to make it into a big story. Our stations took the direct feeds because it had good US coverage. Of course its all over CNN, but you can't blame America for heavily covering it they way they did. If you have a problem with the way the news portrays death in other countries, blame our media.

Its a human interest story and a rating winner for the networks.

Hands up all of you out there that would rather speak Japanese, German or Russian. I do hope that everyone out there hanging on the Americans realises that without there might and power, life in this great country might be a little different.

Ofcourse nobody wants a war that no one can truly win.
The loss of life in any tragic or violent manner is not to be mocked at, no matter which side your politics are on.
We all live an Americanised Australian life style in one way or another, so please can we just restrain the racial and political biase and direct all our anger to the real enemy CARLSCUM!!

As B&W posted the difference between the Wollongong train crash and Columbia was VIDEO.
Don't blame America for the packer media machine. We all support him every time we watch his channel(or the others).
