Even the slightest suggestion of dropping Travis is hilarious.

got me stuffed why he doesn't get on the lead and run the Farkers into the ground….we struggle so much getting effective targets coming out of defence, I think I can remember a time when Trav would mark on the lead on the wing etc……it looks like we have in reid and white we have decent goal kickers……

Why does Trav feel the need to wrestle man o man when its not working at present………agreed one on one he should win most tussles but at present his confidence is down TRAV GET ON YOUR BIKE……have a look at Riewolt stkilda variety…...

It could be worth giving Cloke a run in the VFL just to freshen him up and give him a confidence boost. Play Jesse White in his position and rest Grundy and Witts in the forward line.

At the moment Cloke is a head case. Sad for him, because it was by far the worst 200th game ever.

Did you read the posts above yours, not comprehend them or simply choose to ignore them? Cloke is playing his role. It gives us opportunities in other areas. Opportunities we will simply not get if he is playing in the VFL.

I am making the assumption that the OP never attends actual games. When at the game, it is clear to see the opposition back line forming up to counter Cloke. It leaves space for others to work in. Players like White draw a less fully defensive backman and he exploited that. Mids drop into holes around 30-40 out from goal as Cloke retreats to the goal square and drags key defenders with him. If you actually attended and watched the entire field you would see that.
I'm in no way advocating that Cloke's role is primarily that of a decoy, however it undeniable that his presence has a major impact on how the opposition structure themselves and that structuring is to our advantage.

The OP was a lazy, naive and obtusely negative view of a dominant win.

Agree on all points.

Don't worry everyone, this is surely to get Cloke 100 free kicks next week! This is a quote from the senior umpires coach Hayden Kennedy:

"That's purely from an umpiring perspective, because we need to make sure that if any player is held when not in possession of the ball, a free-kick needs to occur."

He may have been talking about McCaffer at the time, but it's a general statement, so Clokey, you're going to get your due mate. Just kick the ball high to Cloke and wait for the whistle to blow! Razz

Oh you're right! Yes, Cloke will be getting dozens of free kicks next week - woo hoo!! No more grabbing jumpers and pushing out of the contest!

I'm just sad to see a player of Clokes stature being chipped away from threads like this, journos [not that they matter] and trolls who try and make a name for them selfs on a internet forum.
the forward line structure was well balanced in our favour due to a guy who played 200 games for the mighty pies , a guy who puts in 100% every game , who every opposition where up against focus all there attention on and plays he's heart out no matter what! ease up on the guy FFS.

This is ridiculous that Fans on here come to Cloke's defence. He is not performing and that is the end of it.

We don't pay $1 million Dollars for a decoy, it is ridiculous to suggest.

The OP has an opinion, and he has a right to that opinion. For you who have another opinion, good on you, you're entitled to that too, but to attack the OP and people who support him is arrogant.

I get tired of when ever one of our stars has a shocker, or three in a row like Cloke on this occasion, and just put it down to poor kicking into the forward line. Ridiculous talk. Often I see long kicks that go into our forward line, with PLENTY of time for an in form player to read it off the boot, and make it his. Cloke this year has not done this. Lets blame the midfield, which consists of Pendlebury, Beams, Sidebottom and although Ball has been in poor form, there has been plenty of opportunity for Cloke, he is just not taking those opportunity's.

I had a thought the other day, I remembered the times that Cloke was going through contract negotiation, and he was playing horrible football. Then when he signed the contract, he played well to make, but missed everything. Now he isn't even taking the opportunity to kick crooked. Maybe he just isn't as good as we think he is. He has an awefully bad space between his ears, and will let us down a lot, UNLESS Buckley makes him ACCOUNTABLE to be earning his spot like every other player who gets dropped when they play poorly.

Cloke should be put up to CHF for half a game against North, if that doesn't work, I would put him in defence, and if he did nothing with the half to show SOME value to the side, I would drop him. Anything less is favouritism. We have given him 3 games already, and he is not living up to his side of the deal. I bet if we could doc his pay he'd start to come good. He looks lazy to me, and I have been at the games.

This is my opinion, and I am entitled to it, and anyone who thinks I am not, or the OP is not, can as one classy poster said, can piss off.
