I know you don't drink Dave but I'd still suggest you sleep it off.

Honestly, the way we butchered the ball to him, no full forward, not dunstall, lockett, Hudson, coleman or Coventry, could have done any better tonight. Usually, he has two guys hanging on him, sometimes three, but that leaves two of our guys unmanned, where the hell are they ?? Granted, cloke can be very frustrating at times, but on song he is still one hell of a contested mark, didn't he get the most for about three seasons running, I recall ? He needs backup, which is what white and witts should be doing, even grundy, put some talls near him, and make him one out with his opponent.

Karnezis yes. But not at the expense of Cloke. Not saying Goldsack should be dropped, his forward pressure is great but forwards are there to kick goals and he ain't doing that. Goldy to the back line and Karnezis in.

What does Cloke Offer?

Sadly out of form Dave so not a lot at the moment but he is our best option as a forward target and takes the opp's no.1 defender.

Who do we put in Clokes spot, just asking? Cory Gault?

We then give White the No.1 defender and everybody wants Reid back down back.

Travis Cloke is continuing to have a disappointing year so far. His confidence levels are shattered and that could be seen from the first passage of play he was involved in tonight when he dropped a simple chest mark which he should have taken. After that he had very little impact on the overall contest.

I'm not sure what we should do with Cloke. Most other players would be dropped on current form but structurally Cloke is so important for us and needs to stay in the side for that reason plus having two guys on him always allows someone like Maxwell or Harry to be the loose man in defence.

Main problem with Travis at the moment is that he's got no confidence at the moment in his abilities. He's just a player going through the motions doing very little to contribute to the side overall. Even he admitted leading up to his 200th match against the Tigers that he's a confidence player. Remember the North game, he had a strong start and from then on he owned Scott Thompson for the whole day, but tonight was the complete opposite.

I want the Cloke of 2011 to return. He was a strong contested mark, he played up the ground more frequently, he was leading beautifully, he was kicking more goals than he was in any other year and he was in the top 3 best forwards in the league. If the 2011 form can be reproduced, then Travis is a star and a complete asset to the side as a whole.

Okay, drop him.

Question: who replaces him?

Lynch - injured (5-6 weeks 3 weeks ago, 5-6 weeks now)
Reid - injured (who the f--k knows how long to go?)
Gault - injured (8-10 weeks 3 weeks ago, 8-10 weeks this week)

So, White and Witts are our two key forwards now? God, give me strength.

The problem lies with the no-skills butchers delivering (if we're going to use that term) the ball to him. Bring in players who can actually kick it properly to him!

And the coach needs to admit this 'isolate Clokey deep 1-out' trick does not work! We do not have the smarts to make this work. Bucks, release him up the ground!

Far from our worst tonight. Conditions hardly suited him, but he had a crack.

Wow! Get the ball into the forward 50 as slow as treacle, if at all, and see how you go. Our delivery to Cloke is woeful. He need to play up the ground more circa 2010/11. Sit Jesse in the square as the lead out forward.

Cloke is not a FF. He is a CHF

Yup, and a thousand times yup. He needs space to work, and he's a looooong kick, better over a distance. Looks like a CHF to me.

Cloke is partly to blame for his own poor form.

But there are other elements in the team that are not helping his cause.

Such as:

below average disposal

White and Elliot not performing consistently, drawing attention away from Cloke.

Unable to create SPACE in the forward line

Bringing the ball into the forward line with pace/speed.

Cloke will come good. Just give him time

Cloke has been one of my favourite players for a long time. BUT, he is badly out of form at the moment.

What in the hell is going on? He can't even take a chest mark at the moment.

Cloke is still a match winner on his day eg the Kangaroos game. But he is a mental case and you can see from the first minute of the game whether he will be any good or not. Of course we have to play him but the coaching staff need to get inside his head and work this shit out. Play him up the
ground and leave white deep forward with Elliot for sure.

Can't drop him, he is a match winner.

Stop the $£$%^%%$ Cloke hate Dave. Yes, he is out of form. Yes, he dropped a sitter at the start of the game. But I'll be £$%$ed if our fwd 50 delivery wasn't shithouse tonight. There's only so much he can do if he has to compete in 2v1s with a highball coming in.

Yeah let's drop him. Who's going to replace him? What quality tall forward do we have running around in the VFL?

One loss and everyone starts these stupid pissy threads.

What I find interesting is the posters who post in these type of threads post a loss. You can almost put money on certain folks coming out of the wood work.... You don't see them until after a loss which speaks volumes for thier credibility and thus I wouldn't pay much attention to them..

That said dave (who has credibility) is right in some sense in that Cloke is horribly out of form, and needs to pull his finger out, but dropping him to the magoos won't fix that Dave, It would neither be good for him or the team.

As Magpie Bat says

Question: who replaces him?

Lynch - injured (5-6 weeks 3 weeks ago, 5-6 weeks now)
Reid - injured (who the f--k knows how long to go?)
Gault - injured (8-10 weeks 3 weeks ago, 8-10 weeks this week)

Indeed!

If there was another monster forward in the VFL please by all means consider him as an option.
