EDIT: Oops, wrong thread!!
Yeah, apart from that dropped mark Witts wasn't THAT bad.
Effort is always there.
Has a fair bit of work to do on his reading of the game though. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

He made some howling skill errors which can be worked on and he needs to pay attention to where he is tapping the ball when he wins hit outs. Lack of pace will always be an issue with him I suspect. He may develop into a useful second ruck but the idea that we will give any return playing in the forward line is wrong I think. Given his lack of experience though its too early to make a call on him I think. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Nothing wrong with Witts.
First game back in the seniors and was was fine.
Dropped mark, yes, but same can be said for 3/4 of the team on Friday night.
Witts is a man mountain and Grundy is something special (delicious). Witts doesn't have natural ability per se, and may take some time to develop.
Sandilands wasn't the big force he is over night.
Jesse White may provide some good run and speed (also a decent leap), but I see more upside with Witts and Grundy in the side.
Personally, I fear for Grundy. I fear we may turn him Josh Fraser if we play him on his own for years to come. |

He needs some support, but he seems more physically equipped to handle it than Josh was. _________________ "We ain't gotta dream no more" |

Witts is just a baby? Well he has been at the club "twice" as long as Grundy and has a tenth of the courage and oomph. As a supporter all I want is "commit" to the contest when it's your time to go and Witts didn't several times most noticeably the Ponsford end missed mark.
PS: the call on my brother Michael being a emotional was a tad uncalled for and classless. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Piss weak performance. He is not a forward, his turning circle is like that of the titanic.. Too slow.
He is a ruckman and only a ruckman. Can't play 2 in the same team, so vfl for him _________________ Collingwood a way of life! |

Whole team was ordinary in the first q-under huge pressure- confidence shaken
Yep- he stuffed up but he needs time to adjust- did some bloody nice things and will be a force- he is still only 22- just a baby.
Get games into him.
Realistically we are not a contender this year.
Pump games into the young guys to have a crack in 2016/17.
Stop being as emotional as Michael Hutchence |
Right on, he wasn't our worst by a long shot, I was more angry with Shank kick Cloke, and his constant shit kicking for goal. |
How about putting Grundy/Witts interchanging at full-forward and Cloke not allowed inside the 50? Time to think outside the goal square. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

spot on GG! and we drop White and Blairy for De Goey and Gaultand open that forward line up so Grundy or Witts have one on one clashes |

Agree completely Brenny. Big men take longer to develop. Grundy is a rare exception to this rule. Witts will be fine just needs more time and games. White is the real concern. The guy has no second effort and shy's away from any form of body contact. White will not be part of our next premiership and we should be spending our time developing younger talent who will have more upside long term. 2015 is about development and not winning premierships.
We will continue to win some and loose some but hopefully we will have a good core and structure by the end of the season. This should give us a good foundation going forward. |
