Yeah, fair point, though Bruce ensures that that will always be annoying. Razz

Two differences: 1) It's obviously a nickname, because no-one in their right mind would actually call their child "Buddy". It would not be obvious to a casual observer that Elliott is called anything else.

2) It's his actual nickname. Like, people actually call him that. Does Jamie actually answer to "Billy" in real life?

"billy" was bestowed upon elliott quite early in his collingwood career.

i am surprised by your lack of research prior to posting david.

One large serving of humble pie for me, then!

(It's ok, I was hungry anyway.)

Half way through reading this thread I lose my way and have no idea what's going on, and then I realize why. Hiss is in the house yo and he's hijacked yet another thread with his crazed and demented ideology. You sound like a nursing home crack pot.

in America they consider their best ever player (Ty cobb) to be a rapists and a racist! And neither could be further from the truth.

Hmmm Can you be leftist and fascist at the same time? Extreme right wing and leftist at the same time??

Billy Elliott was coined early on from the british movie of the same name. Maybe he's a mate of him?

Lemme ask you this; is it true Ty Cobb was the first major league player to steal bases, and is it true he broke the shins of a few opponents when doing so?

I'd heard this was the case, but cannot find any sources of info that would confirm or deny....

Cheers

I don't care if he is a wanker (who isn't? Laughing ). All I know is that Billy Elliott is a future captain of Collingwood.
