The Age: "Bolton was hopeful Matthew Kreuzer and Mitch McGovern would both be available to return from injury in next Saturday’s game ... Tom Williamson copped a knock late in the game although Bolton didn’t seem to think the defender had suffered a serious injury. Dale Thomas spent time off the ground in the first half following a head knock but was cleared to return and played out the game."

Assume Liam Jones will miss with concussion.

Come on mate - Sier hasn't trained for two weeks and played one VFL game in early April. He is no where near considered for selection.

Wills has put a good month of footy into his body and has held up. He'd be the only replacement from the 2s that could take Adams' spot.

Other option would be Aish in and push Levi / Cal Brown into the guts.
Not panic stations, we can cover Tay as we have earlier in the season. Get him right and give him time to recover.

^^The easy move is Aish in to play wing and Sidey into the centre.

Also WHE played quite a bit of wing last game (I think started there for 11 centre bounces).

We have plenty of room within the existing 22, plus Aish to cover Adams in the middle. Wills isn't requied and, in my view, isn't an AFL player. The only slight chance I could see is for him to come in and play a defensive role on Cripps, due to his size.

If we were to rest Grundy and Kruezer played, we’d be toast and be lucky to get it out of the centre once.

Bolton will be reading the riot act at training this week; I suspect he is on thinner ice than we realise.

Bolts has the full support of the Carlton board. Neutral

Totally; the same level of unflinching support they have been providing their coaches for the last 40 years Laughing

Well I wouldn't get too quick to point the finger - The amount of supporters on forums that love to drop coaches the first time they lose a game doesn't just reside at Carlton boards.

smash the scum. simple as that. the age is already revving them up and the players are promising a better contest this week so we shouldn't get too cocky. they're a pathetic rabble of a club. this is an opportunity for us to really damage them. we need to be at our best. clinical and skillful. put them to the sword early and get the job done.

It's possible we will make just one change to our line-up this week.

In: Cox

Out: Adams (inj)

Playing the 2 talls up forward would necessitate us moving one of Thomas or WHE to the wing, and moving Sidey from the wing to the midfield.

Or do we play Cox as ruck and Grundy as a midfielder ?

^^^

Or Cox replaces Adams at the selection table.

Cox goes to full forward to replace DeGoey and DeGoey spends his day as a mid or resting on the bench.
You could possibly make Cox, Reid and Miochek all work on the same forward line as long as they all stayed out of each other’s way ( particularly against ordinary opposition )

What this thread is showing is how many options we have due to our great depth. I’d love to see Trav Varcoe get to wear the indigenous guernsey the following week. Maybe he gets a reprieve for Adams this week and plays well enough to stay in. Steele goes back inside the square and Trav on a wing.

Blues won't buy into Eddie's Clarkson call

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/blues-won-t-buy-into-eddie-s-clarkson-call-20190506-p51knj.html

"If you had a blank canvas and the situation was there, if you're Mark LoGuidice you'd probably be having breakfast in the next little period of time with Alastair Clarkson, wouldn't you, because they could work together.

"Brendon Bolton I'm a huge wrap for, and people are going to go after him but he has done all the hard work.

"Now, they've worked together [at Hawthorn]."

"Clarko has already said he's staying at Hawthorn. I'm saying in the best possible world, that is the type of person you'd want to get. It makes Carlton a destination club as well.

"If you realised when Richmond came good how annoying they are, you just wait until Carlton comes good. I don't want to give them any advice at all that might make them in any way decent."
