The only other sport I can think of where the ball is consistently fought for in dead play situations is Ice Hockey ( Face-Offs, and replace ball with puck )

A 36-all draw in which we kicked 1 goal after quarter time and 3 behinds for the entire second half is nothing to hold up as an example of how things should be done... the other 2 games were solid. We arguably should have won the GWS game too

Anyway, not sure what the point of this revision is - it only came up as an example of the ludicrousness of suggesting Fly was calling the shots in May last year

Mate your just clutching at straws now

Fact is, we were undefeated for 3 games without Pendles in the centre. That draw was against the reigning premiers might I add

Since when is 36 points in a match, 1 goal in 3 quarters and 3 behinds in a half acceptable?

Clutching at straws would be spinning 2-0-1 as “undefeated”. Or clinging on to beating Melbourne and ignoring the rest of the season

Why are we even talking about round 2, 2020? Was 2 years ago

Someone else stated we were getting smashed in midfield without Pendlebury, but on investigation I found it interesting that we were actually undefeated, 10 points from a possible 12.

Also we were playing 16 min quarters so it's not as bad as your making it sound.

Plus it wasn't that long ago, we still have a big core of players who played in the 2018 GF, is it irrelevant to bring that up too?

At the end of the day, I just hope that Fly is getting ready to unleash a new look combative midfield ( as he has been studying us since May of last year 🙂 )

If you can't understand the reasoning and importance behind this topic it's not my duty to enlighten you. Now I need to get back to work as I have a paitent I need to operate on. Nice chatting 👍 Go Pies!

What I find VERY interesting about what has been brought up is that we were undefeated after those 3 rounds! However as you stated, when Pendlebury became involved in the 'main bounces' from Rd 4, we went on to lose our next 2 games.

You shouldn't have found it THAT interesting doctor. In Round 4 the giants were dominating the midfield, THEN Pendles was moved back into the midfield to turn the tide.

I hope your surgeon skills are far better than your insights into football. Fly coaching the team in 2021 is one of the worst calls I've heard.
