I don't follow your reasoning.

The more I think about it, the less keen on him I am. As good a mark as he is, he is not what we need. If he was 5 cms taller I'd think differently, but as it is, he's slightly shorter than Pendles, so is not tall enough to become a KPF, which is what we need.

Would you consider Watts if we got him at a bargain price RB?

I must admit to entertaining the idea and softening my initial stance of "no way bloody known".

Howe would be that athletic hit up third forward we lack. He has the tattoos, the cult like X factor following and versatility.

Not totally against this idea. We'd be a handful with Cloke, Moore and Howe clunking pretty much everything that came in. Even with our wayward entries Razz

But he can mark under pressure, unlike the much taller Jesse White. Melbourne have played him as a 3rd tall(ish) forward with as much success as was possible in a team with only two midfielders to kick to him. The comparison for Howe in our team is Tyson Goldsack. If we are confident that Goldsack will be fit for 20+ games then we don't want Howe, but Goldie has missed a lot of games through injury in the last few seasons.

If there is one thing we have seen with former Melbourne players such as Jared Rivers, Colin Sylvia and most recently James Frawley, it's that no matter how good the system they are going to is... You can take a player out of Melbourne, but you can't take the Melbourne out of a player.
Once, they've been in that system their standards and decision making processes are totally effed.
Those 3 have all had large wraps at one point or another, and have gone to Geelong, Fremantle and Hawthorn, arguably the 3 best modern football systems in regards to structures and leadership, and all 3 have failed to live up to expectation. I have no doubt Howe will do the same wherever he ends up.

We do lack for that medium tall forward target.

Knowing Bucks though he'd continue with the useless experiment of playing Howe across half back like Roos.

Think he would be a great pick up for $450k?

Good prospect but I wouldn't be putting all my hopes on him.

Has to overcome shoulder surgery and build fitness next year before even becoming an option.

Room for both anyway.
