Yeah, I read that earlier today, much better article.

I can't see how it's the start of the collapse of the house of cards as WPT put it, as each thing is largely independent of the others.

Trump tells lies? In other news, water is wet and the sky is blue. Will this change many opinions? Unlikely. It might give some Republicans who were already looking for a way to dump him, something to justify their actions.

Whatever happens I genuinely hope he doesn't get elected again. The first time was justifiable but no one has learned any lessons about why he was elected and exposed form says he just can't be POTUS again. Even a walking cadaver like Biden has to be better. (An inanimate carbon rod would likely be an improvement on both)

This is a pretty big deal. You’d have to be from another planet or a Trumpling( perhaps the same thing) to think other wise.

In essence, the jury, six men and three women, have said that Trump is a liar and that he sexually assaulted this woman. They said in no uncertain terms that they didn’t believe anything Trump had to say on this incident. If you don’t think that is a big deal then I don’t know what you think a big deal is.

It doesn’t augur well for Trump’s chances of getting off future court cases that he faces, like inciting an insurrection, interfering in the conduct of an election, stealing classified documents and then lying about having them in his possession etc. It’s clear now that juries will hold him accountable for his law breaking ,and won’t be swayed by his political power or his money and privilege.

He said he didn't rape her and the jury agreed. They believed him on that, didn't they. Or they just didn't believe her. As David suggested, with potentially 2 liars, they hit the middle ground.

For the people like (potentially) your good self who have a serious case of ATD (Anti Trump Disorder) this confirms everything they think. For his supporters, it's a Meh. It's the (few) in the middle it may or may not sway.

The jury actually awarded the woman $5,000,000 in defamation,so they clearly believed her word over Trump’s.No middle ground was reached, this was a clear loss for Trump,no matter what you might think. So to suggest that they thought both of them were liars is gilding the lily in Trump’s favour to a ridiculous extent. Not the first time you have done that,by the way.

The defamation charge is different and clear cut once the assault charge was determined. They didn't find him guilty of rape. Take your ATD elsewhere, I'm not defending him and have no interest in fighting with you.

I’m sorry, but I’m.not going to take my ATD anywhere,or whatever the hell you call it.Trump lost the case quite clearly, there’s no need for you to muddy the waters by pretending otherwise.

Saying that he wasn’t found guilty of rape is clearly clutching at straws and just a diversion from the fact that the jury found that he defamed this woman and that in all probability he sexually assaulted her too.

Whatever. Try to actually read about it, you may just understand how it worked.

I know how it worked.Trump lost the case.He was furious and E Jean Carroll was delighted with the verdict. She saw it as a vindication of everything she’s been saying for the last 27.years.And it was. That’s all you need to know.Everything else is just spin.

Regardless of the finer definition of the sexual assult - fingers or peni$, and what was provable to the extent required at law - the fellow is odious and unfit for any serious office. But anyone with two minutes of world experience who knew anything about the bloke and human psychology worked that out long ago. Devolving into the usual back-and-forth won't change that.

Undoubtedly. Regardless of the truth of specific allegations, I think it's extremely likely that he is a long-time sexual predator. The bottom line is his malignant personality is plain for anyone to see and makes him unfit for office.

More detail on the case here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Jean_Carroll_vs._Donald_J._Trump

Pretty much agree with that. The old "Grab em by the pussy" line supports that he's long believed he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it.

The right wingers who choose to defend Trump have the right to do so but it is obvious that they are always going to deny the facts and believe in the fantasy of his innocence 😔
