Poulter stays as well, thought for certain he was gone. Hope he steps up next year after a big preseason, he’s got the talent. |

So hawks apparently paying most of Mitchell salary as well BONUS
We got McStay, Frampton, Hill and Mitchell who should all be in best 22
We lost Grundy and Henry of whom only 1 was best 22
I think we have won this trade period
Hill adds genuine speed and goal sense ✅
Mitchell fills needs of a in and under mid feeding it out to outside runners ✅
Frampton to FB allows Moore to go to CHB he’s best position and gives is that 2 talls in backline allowing Howe to get 3rd banana and be true 3rd man up or interceptor ✅
McStay as swing man forward or back and relief ruck. Plays as second tall which we’ve really missed should take pressure off checkers. If he brings ball to ground Hill Ginnivan and Elliott to hunt it ✅
Well done Wright and we go to draft with some capital still in our hand |

time will tell how this pans out - I liked Henry but thought he went missing at times. It might be a good deal I'm hoping. Tom Mitchell will make us deeper and better - we missed Adams when he was injured. _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

Our draft hand has improved, so credit to Wright here.
Originally it was 16, 42, 47, 48
After the trade period it's 16, 25, 27, 41, 50, 51 _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Saw that on Fox Footy but didn’t Hawthorn get 41 and 50? |

I think that we have done very well this trade period.
We have addressed areas that we needed to along with improving our draft hand.
If the word on the street that we are paying $650k for Grundy and all next year are correct, that is a big win considering the media speculation that it was going to be 1.5 million over five years.
Ollie Henry can get stuffed. I understand players that get homesick, but an hour down the road is total bulldust and says a lot about him that I’m glad he’s not at Collingwood now.
I give Wrighty and co a B+ _________________ - Side By Side - |

Where were we weak?
2 Bookends, onballer, a speedy skilled small
And ended up with a better hand.
16, 25, 27, 51
Great result by the Pies
btw, Tom Mitchell's disposals are nearly 50/50.
Pendles, N. Daicos, Lipinski, Sidey, Adams say hello!!
Let's Make pick 25 count too.
Interestingly Hawks are paying part of Mitchells salary. |

Brilliant accomplishment by Graham Wright. He’s addressed all our deficiencies and improved us at the draft table. The only thing he hasn’t done is brought elite talent into the club but you can’t blame him for that. We didn’t have enough high draft picks to nab Taranto nor the money in the salary cap until we clear players off our books. Hopefully we’re better placed to attract a high end established player next year. And with pick 16 in the national draft we might pick up a promising key position player. What we don’t want to repeat under Buckley is having too many flanker type players. Our playing list is much more balanced now. |
