Cox has been a rare positive this year along with Treloar

Proving a lot of people wrong, the response on Nicks anytime anyone dare suggesting picking Cox was as positive as if you suggest they support Carlton!

Any news on his hand?

Buckley at his press conference said the damage was "not structural" ; so assuming they can tell without scans, it sounds just like a bad laceration. If that is correct, I guess that could cost him a week, depending on how fast he heals.

bad laceration my arse, serious bruising. If 85kg lands on your hand from a jump, it's going to hurt, The cuts were from the stops but the hand swelled up straight away.

Plenty of ice treatment he might still be right for the weekend. He came back on so he can play with pain.

I think we have to stick with Cox as a KPF who can take a turn in the ruck to change things up

That seems to be Buckley's plan. It's beginning to work earlier than I thought it would.

That must be the one Buckley plan that hasn't been derailed due to injury this year. Oh and the Treloar idea....that's worked a treat.

But look, this thread is a trojan horse or a phishing attempt. Any thread that gets positive responses from Mr Sugar, Jez07 and thompsoc is surely bogus.

O ye, of little faith Neil!

That's just bull. Some were very keen to bring him in early in the season, others (like me) thought a few weeks in the vfl would do him no harm and allow the senior players to prove they deserved thier spots.

You been visiting Miss whiplash again, Stui ?

Anyway, yes, i'm sure bruising comes as part of the package. Geez, it looked a mess. I was surprised and disappointed they didn't keep him off and ice it straight away. It's not like the game was in danger.

There is a place not far from me called Miss Cruella. Get over here Stu and I can show you where its is. Well the sign anyway. Another place not far away is the castle. Used to live near it. Unfortunately I went past it when they were renovating and the sight of a bloke Mick Nolans size getting tied up was too much.

Surely you have to admit that the guy has done extremely well E?

I know you are not a fan but he has exceeded almost all expectations and he will only get better - not that he is crap - he looks pretty good he plays pretty smart which is unusual for big guys!

Was keeping a pretty close eye on him in the VFL last season and was pretty convinced he had the goods to be a very effective AFL level forward.

He's obviously a hell of an athlete and has picked up the skills of the game pretty well. The thing that impresses me most about him isn't the skills side though, it's how much he 'gets' the sport. Despite still being very fresh in regards to the amount of time he's played the sport, he knows where to run, where the ball is going to go and how best to assist his team-mates by doing the little things; one such incident that comes to mind immediately is his attack on the ball and little knock on to Sidey (I think) on ANZAC day, and his accurate tap-outs in the ruck as well are quality evidence of this.

Another thing I love about him is that he not only draws opponents into giving away frees, but unlike Cloke (and it's not Cloke's fault per-say), the umpires seem to respect him and are willing to pay frees if anyone infringes him, long may it continue.

He took a couple of nice contested marks against Taylor in the NAB cup, hopefully he can do it when it counts.

Hopefully the ball will be delivered to him as (relatively) well as it was in that game too.
