Sees thats whats funny, these things can be reported all over the radio, news services every hour yet we cannot say the same things they do? Is the club going to take action against every news service? Or maybe they are correct

There is absolutely no proof that members of the cheer squad were involved in any incident with the "Cholera cart" vendors outside. We need a cheer squad but some bad eggs might have to be asked to move on.

I think Collingwood would be the poorer without a cheersquad behind the goals, but they do need to get their act together and even the C/s members themselves are saying they need to get together to discuss all this.

It's really sad that a small element ruin it for the majority, but that's always the case.

Thats right Jac there are alot of wonderful people in the cheersquad but there are also alot of VINDICTIVE people aswell. <Mention of the incident deleted - BBMods>

Now to everyone who has ever been friendly and always treated me with the same respect as I have treated them with, I am sorry for all of you having to see what happened and if your children saw it but to the backstabbing people I am not sorry at all!!!! Enough said!!!!

SO you were one of teh ones who supported the singing of that racist song by Collingwood fans? I should say I am not surprised.

I beg your pardon?

The cheersquad is a waste of space. It just a game day marketing ploy which continually let's us down with incidents like this one which are sadly not isolated.

Everything rises and falls on leadership. Who is the cheersquad leader? Who sets the culture down there? Whoever it is should accept a large part of the responsibility.

So anything that happens with the Collingwood players is Buckleys fault - based on your logic.

No, but the conduct of the players on match day is a large part of his responsibility as captain of the club.

Would you disagree?

Everyone is responsible for their own actions.

It is not Buckleys fault that Brodie ran through Montgomery.

It just seems like you are taking another cheap shot at someone which is growing very boring.

I was of the understanding that someone whom you might be referring to is not the cheersquad leader.

I was interested as to who was, as they have to have some sort of responsibility for the activities of the members.

Yes.

That's the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. We're not on the field playing footy. It's a seperate issue.

No, but you are representing the club.

You apparently have a leader.

What is a leaders responsibility?

And how absolutely typical of you to exagerate the incident. What "brawl"? Where was that reported?

People with loose lips who make unfounded accusations are just as likely to bring the club into disrepute as some (underline the "some") members of the cheersquad.

The brawl that saw hotdog vendors assaulted and their stuff smashed up thats what brawl not to mention the other fight inside the ground

That has absolutely nothing to do with it. That is utter crap, and that is how rumours start.

I was once in the cheer squad and found it cliquey and unwelcoming, though this was many years ago and things may have changed.

I think the banner is a waste of time, and, as someone else said, is used more for advertising than inspiration or acknowledgement. No team ever played better because of what was written on a banner.

I think regardless of how much money is gotten from it, having non-Collingwood flags in the cheer squad is a disgrace. A Colllingwod crowd should be a sea of black and white, the cheer squad even more so. Every time I look at the cheer squad and see the yellow and red of the Crazy John flag, it makes me sick.

I think there's room for a cheer squad in a modern AFL club, but get rid of the banner, get rid on the corporatisation (flags, signs) and get rid of the trouble makers.
