Delusional quote.

Yeah fair enough point. I stand corrected if it doesn't happen. It was probably extremely delusional on my part....... Rolling Eyes

Just on Mooney, can we elevate rookies when someone is placed on a long term injury list or do we have to wait for rd 11?
Also I would play Witts this week and rest Lynch, he looks knackered.

ps. Sidebottom has been in our best 3 players in 4/6 games, the calls for his omission are beyond laughable.

Theres 3 spots avail atm for rookies

dwyer will get a spot and you would think Martin as well.

Oxley and Mooney both chances too.

Yeah I understand this but I'm under impression you can't promote rookies until the mid-season break.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Any time a senior listed player suffers a long term injury, their club can move them to the long term injury list and promote a rookie in their place for as long as the injured senior player is on the sidelines (must be a minimum of 8 weeks). This can happen at any time during the season.

There is also, as you alluded to, a mid-year rookie promotion available, which can only be activated, as the name suggests, at the mid-year point of the season.

So, for example, it could go something like this:

Dwyer > mid-year upgrade

Martin > LTI upgrade for Toovey

Oxley > LTI upgrade for Frost

Currently, there is also an open spot after Jackson Ramsay was placed on the LTI list 3 weeks ago, which means a rookie could upgraded right now and be eligible for senior selection for the next 5 weeks, before having to go back to the rookie list when Ramsay returns.

^^^ Cheers mate.

Looks like we'll be seeing Moons strut his stuff in the seniors before too long then.

Currently have 2 vacancies because Ramsey & Tooves have been placed on the LTI without anyone being elevated. Could elevate 1 rookie to cover Ramsey & and they'd get about 5 weeks before he's actually back. Could also elevate another to cover Tooves and obviously they'd get the remainder of the season.

Frost has currently been elevated (for Broomhead I think) and he's hurt his knee. Don't know the extent yet or how that gets played out. If we can elevate someone to fill the remainder of the LTI they'd get a couple of weeks.

Nah, that's Dwyer you're thinking of. He got the LTI upgrade because Broomhead got glandular fever. When Broomhead returns to the VFL, Dwyer will go back to the rrokie list and be ineligible for the seniors unless promoted again.

Frost got the "nominated rookie" upgrade, becasue we only had 38 listed senior players on the primary list, leaving space to nominate 2 rookies to fill the final 2 spots to take the number up to 40 (Hudson got the other spot).

DDIIIIDDDAAAAKKK! Is back!

Suggest Witts goes out for more run on the extra big ground.

It was Mooney's first game back. Suggest he needs to put a few weeks of good footy together to get a call up. Didak has done this.

Not sure about Krack. He had a shocker for mine. I guess you give him another chance to establish himself. I'd like for them to release him into the middle for small patches.

Sidey was tagged last week, thus his quiet game. He needs to learn from that. But it does release our other mids. When Beams and Ball get back with the rest ( fit and firing) it will be a headache for opposition. I'm hoping the game plan will then be visible and more importantly sound. But Sidey stays. Big subiaco will suit him.

At least we had a good practice against an ultra defensive game last week and holds us in better stead this week.

If we play like last week, I'm worried about this game. Looking for improvement in style/performance and a win. Although I'll take the win anyway at the end of the day.

Go Pies!

At this stage of the season and our juggling acts with injuries, players coming back from injuries and the settling down of the team, I will be totally bloody RAPT with a one point win Rolling Eyes

I'm getting the feeling Mooney could well become our Mr X Factor. Just a feeling. An enigma. We're seriously due for one of these types of players to just suddenly emerge.
